Being imputed righteousness is not being saved; otherwise, Abraham's soul would have been spiritually saved with no need for the blood of the lamb shed on the cross.

Neither would he have needed been justified by the work of offering up Isaac.

Being imputed righteousness is only preached against the righteousness or man without faith towards God, it is not preached as the soul being saved, much less being justified by faith alone.

Imputed righteousness for believing God within the heart is the beginning of becoming righteous sons of God, it is not a declaration of being righteous with God by faith alone.

Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

This scripture is a rebuke against the false claim of being righteous by inward faith alone:

Only those doing righteousness are the righteous: imputed righteousness is the love of God to do it, but being righteous is only them that are doing it.

Impute righteousness by faith in Christ, is for God to put His love for righteousness within the heart, but if we do not go on to do that righteousness, then we never become the righteous, nor the sons of God.

To be righteous, as He is righteous, is to be a doer of His righteousness as He is: Jesus Christ is not a believer in righteousness only, but the lover and doer thereof.

I hate vain thoughts: but thy law do I love.

For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

Imputed righteousness by faith is the same as that of Abraham who believed God, but only the doing the truth of the cross of Christ, is salvation of the soul by His Spirit.

Imputed righteousness is for loving God's righteousness and truth, but if we do not receive that love into our hearts, to go on and do right to purge our hearts of lust for unrighteous thoughts of man, then we know what is right, but we are not being saved by it.

The Lord imputed righteousness to Abraham based on his faith. His faith, his righteousness.

People will confuse human righteousness with the righteousness of God. Abraham did NOT have the righteousness of God. Rather, he was noted for his faith and that made him a righteous man (humanly righteous) in God's eyes.

Did Abraham claim to be righteous because of his beliefs? No, that's a modern fallacy. Many people today have been indoctrinated into claiming their own justification for agreeing with a set of dogmatic religious beliefs. That is NOT the faith of Abraham. Abraham believed God could do the impossible. The equivalent today would be to believe the gospel...that we can walk as Jesus walked without sin...by grace through faith. With God all things are possible. We can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens us. Anything He can do we also can do with Him.

What about God's righteousness? Can we be imputed God's righteousness? Of course not. God's righteousness is His not ours. But we can be COVERED by His righteousness as we abide in Christ. His banner over us is love. :)

True. Good point.

Imputed righteousness is not being righteous, which is only be doing righteousness.

When a person believes Jesus is the Crist, God imparts to that believer His own desire and love for righteousness. But without doing it, there is no justification with God.

My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

Desire to do well is good, and better than desiring to do evil, but if we do not good, we are no better with God than those doing evil: at least they are consistent.

Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.
