Anyone remember this rock opera? Chances are some may have seen a reproduction of it... Maybe by your Church.
Ian Gilliam of Deep Purple fame sang Jesus' part on the album. He of course hit his high notes while praying in the Garden as well as beating out the money changers in the temple. Phenominal!
Herod taunts Jesus and it makes me a little nervous to say it was comedy. But it was meant to be funny and because we don't find the humor in it... That song did what it was supposed to do.
They made a studio movie. It was terrible.
There were a lot of liberties taken in the movie and you can't even accept it as a teaching. But I heard it at age 13... It at least planted a seed that the real story was interesting and powerful.
