Jesus fulfilled the atonement law. No one was allowed to enter the Most Holy Place except once a year, on the Day of Atonement. The high priest Leviticus 16:

15 shall kill the goat of the sin offering that is for the people and bring its blood inside the veil and do with its blood as he did with the blood of the bull, sprinkling it over the mercy seat and in front of the mercy seat.
Fast-forward to the moment Jesus died on the cross, Matthew 27:

50 Jesus cried out again with a loud voice and yielded up his spirit.
51 And behold, the curtain [veil] of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. And the earth shook, and the rocks were split.
Jesus fulfilled the atonement law/ritual.

The Law generally demanded sacrifices for the forgiveness of sins (Hebrews 9:22). Jesus fulfilled that as the perfect sacrifice (Hebrews 10:14). Moreover, Jesus fulfilled all the sacrificial laws, Hebrews 9:

12 He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, thus obtaining eternal redemption.
Jesus' death on the cross atoned for our sins once and for all, John 1:

29 John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!
Jesus foretold the destruction of the Jerusalem temple in Matthew 24:

1 Jesus left the temple and was going away, when his disciples came to point out to him the buildings of the temple. 2 But he answered them, “You see all these, do you not? Truly, I say to you, there will not be left here one stone upon another that will not be thrown down.”
Without the temple and the priesthood, no one can follow Moses' laws that require them. Jesus fulfilled all the temple sacrificial laws.

Yes, after the Babylonian Judgment the Temple was destroyed and the Israelites could not worship using Temple laws. Their priests also could not operate as priests were supposed to in the Temple worship. However, the Jews in exile continued to acknowledge that some laws could continue to be kept, in trust that the Temple system would be restored later.

When Jesus came and proclaimed the coming desolation of Jerusalem by the Romans he was not giving any hope of a future Temple restoration. He declared he was the true Temple, and that he was the fulfillment of the whole Law, just as you're saying.

We should really put a period at the end of this sentence, and put to rest the constant chatter about the Law of Moses being forever. Thanks for this very clear statement of NT truth!! :)
