The first way Jesus’ sacrifice affects believers is through forgiveness. Through His death on the cross, He took on the punishment that was due to all mankind for their sins. By accepting this responsibility, He paid the price in full so that we could be freed from sin and guilt. This act of love enabled us to receive God’s grace and mercy – a gift that allows us to come before Him with open hearts without fear of judgment or condemnation.

Jesus also gave us hope through His sacrifice. In times of distress or despair, we can turn to Him for comfort knowing that no matter what happens in this world there is something greater waiting for those who believe in Him: eternal life with God in heaven where there will be no more pain or suffering (John 14:1-3). The promise of a better future gives believers courage during difficult times; they know that whatever struggles they face here will not last forever because ultimately they are loved by a higher power who desires only good things for them (Romans 8:28).

Finally, Jesus’ sacrificial death provides Christians with strength and guidance as they go about their lives here on earth. By following His example of selflessness and unconditional love (John 15:13), believers learn how to live lives characterized by humility, compassion, patience, and obedience (Philippians 2:5-8). These values provide strength when faced with temptation or adversity; instead of succumbing to sin or giving up hope during hard times, we can draw upon Christ’s example as inspiration and motivation towards righteousness (Hebrews 12:1-2). Furthermore, Jesus’ teachings offer practical advice about day-to-day living such as loving your neighbor as yourself (Matthew 22:39) or laying down one's own needs before others (Philippians 2:3) – wisdom that helps Christians make wise decisions even when faced with challenging circumstances.

Amen!

Regards,
Jared

The bible critics came up with theories to try and disprove the resurrection:

One was that Jesus only 'swooned' on the cross.. and Jesus revived later in the coolness of the sepulchre.

The problems with this theory show the reality of the gospel account.

Firstly, in those times even though crucifixion wasn't an exact science.. the brutal beating the receiver got was too extreme to have anything left to revive.

Second, assuming that Jesus somehow against all odds survived the beating before the cross, and survived the spear in the side...

Then you are faced with the issue that the grave clothes they would have put him would have suffocated Him. So any remaining life that was left would have been snuffed out through suffocation.

Then say against astronomical odds.. Jesus survived all that.. and got out of the grave clothes. He is still mostly dead, bloodied and bruised and beaten. How is He then supposed to have rolled away the great stone covering the sepulchre?

So let's say.. doing the impossible.. He manages to roll the stone away...

How then can the disciples claim He is risen.. as a bloodied, bruised, half dead, exhausted being?

As they say.. 'preprosterous imagination!'

Thanks Walter, my posts answered the first question, the second was Nisan 14, 33 and the third and Mary Magdelene was the first recorded to see him if I remember correctly.

For those who are interested in read the attachment, I have, to the best of my abilities, arranged the story of Jesus chronologically from His passing through Jerico, on his way up to Jerusalem for His crucifixion, up and until the time of His ascension.

Enjoy

Shalom
