All silliness aside, I've had virtually no confidence whatsoever in journalism since about 1990ish (and not much more before that).

I realize the law of probabilities provides that someone is going to report accurately once in a while, but I'm just a guy sitting on my couch who's only smart enough to know that pursuit of personal gain is the prevailing factor in the vast majority of human endeavor, not the least typical of which is news media.

It doesn't matter how the guy who signs the checks votes. It safest to assume that they're all crooks and work from there the best one is able. :)
