Please get a pen and get ready to mark (scratch it off or highlight it) the words out of the bible in the New Testament. (King James Version)Scratch off (or highlight it) "which was the son of Cainan" in Luke 3:36 as it does NOT belong into the Word of God.Luke 3:35 - Which was the son of Saruch, which was the son of Ragau, which was the son of Phalec, which was the son of Heber, which was the son of Sala,Luke 3:36 - Which was the son of Cainan, which was the son of Arphaxad, which was the son of Sem, which was the son of Noe, which was the son of Lamech,Luke 3:37 - Which was the son of Mathusala, which was the son of Enoch, which was the son of Jared, which was the son of Maleleel, which was the son of Cainan,Luke 3:38 - Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God.Why? Here is proof.Genesis 11:10 - These are the generations of Shem: Shem was an hundred years old, and begat Arphaxad two years after the flood:Genesis 11:11 - And Shem lived after he begat Arphaxad five hundred years, and begat sons and daughters.Genesis 11:12 - And Arphaxad lived five and thirty years, and begat Salah:Genesis 11:13 - And Arphaxad lived after he begat Salah four hundred and three years, and begat sons and daughters.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I Chronicles 1:17 - The sons of Shem; Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram, and Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Meshech.I Chronicles 1:18 - And Arphaxad begat Shelah, and Shelah begat Eber....I Chronicles 1:24 - Shem, Arphaxad, Shelah,JagLovest ye in Christ Yahshua our Lord and Saviour.(Note, First saw at http://www.theseason.org/genesis/genesis11.htm)

Hi Jag!Thanks for sharing that! I know there are other descrepancies, but none compared to creating & supporting heresey as much as the other versions has done. Here is a link proving that the orginial manuscript did not have it.http://www.apologeticspress.org/articles/580I still take the KJV over other bible translations though for the errors in there are supporting heresey and thus no one heeds the KJV actual meaning of His sayings. This is probably why the Lord has to appear to judge the House of God at the rapture event because they have all gone out of the Way, they have all together become corrupt.. that the despensation of the Gospel will have to go back to the Jews after the rapture. The Lord shall deliver His people from bondage and darkness by His appearing.Jeremiah 50: 6My people hath been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their restingplace. 7All that found them have devoured them: and their adversaries said, We offend not, because they have sinned against the LORD, the habitation of justice, even the LORD, the hope of their fathers. Amen.

I agree with you with that... I'll still stick with the KJV, because it is the Byzantine Text that were used. The only thing I disagree with your statement is the Rapture doctrine. It doesn't exist. I'm more looking forward to see the Anti-Christ (Satan) (instead of Christ) to come first. (suxth trumpet) because Christ is coming back at the seventh trumpet. We will not see him in our flesh body. The reason I point the error in Luke 3:36, is because I know there are some people who are lazy to study, so I decided to help out from this deceiving error (minor)JagLovest ye in Christ Yahshua, Lord and Saviour.

I don't even have a place to study Hebrew and Greek. I use Strongs Exhaustive Concordance on the internet. Along with www.biblegateway.com and reading my KJB. And reading bible studies. They all help alot.

Okay. I didn't scratch it out, however, I did highlight it. Thanks.
Scratch it off or highlight it. It makes no difference, just as long as "Which was the son of Cainan" in Luke 3:36 was the error......Actually highlighting is probably more worth it because you can show that error to a friend, family etc for corrections.

You are quite welcome.

There has to be another explination than error. The Holy Spirit is in control of the Bible so there must be another explination besides deceit.I believe we should investigate and dig deep to find a better answer. The Canaan of the OT was a son of Ham and not Shem.Could it be possible that a son was deleted or added for some other reason?

Dear RobinD69Ham is indeed the father of Canaan. (Genesis 9) We are talking about Cainan. It's a different person. There is only one Cainan in the bible.JagLovest ye in Christ Yahshua, Lord and Saviour.

Yes I realize this.I have been looking at all the bible translations I have with me here and it is the same in them all, including the Jehovah witness Bible and the interlinier Bibles. There must be an explination other than error.Could it be that there was a Cainan but he died before the birth of his son and his father raised his son as his own.I mean it is possible, but why wouldnt the OT have recorded this?I am sorry but if we allow this to be declared an error without investigating other areas or other explinations, then we might as well just let the detractor be right. If the Bible is in error in one aspect, then it must be in others, therefor it is not protected by the Holy Spirit, and is not the Word of God.I cannot accept this, the Holy Spirit within me tells me there is something more to it.Thanks for the project.I believe we should all be in prayer and searching for the truth rather than just giving in.

If you think about it. The OT is written in ages ago...on each book is written on different time periods. And the NT is written later than than the OT. To be quite honest, the "second Cainan" can not fit into the lineage for Christ Yahshua to come through. I can believe that it was an error, cause OT came first. The same, that lots of people try to fit Cain into the lineage of Christ Yahshua to come through, because Cain is Satan's son and the fact that there were more people in the Ark than just Noah's family (Adamite race) and the fact Adam and Eve aren't the first two people existed on Earth at start...JagLovest ye in Christ Yahshua our Lord and Saviour.

You are missing my point. It was also custom for ones brother to raise their children if they died.It has also been revealed that some people are omited from geneologies for various reasons. We also know that many have several names. If we take these things into account, there could have been a second Cainan that was omited from the OT.

The only two people in the bible that has many, many, I mean several names (or titles) are Satan and Yahshua. There are some people with another name like, Matthew which is also called Levi. What's most important here is the lineage for Christ to come through. And that's pretty much what this thread was, to correct the error.JagLovest ye in Christ Yahshua, Lord and Saviour.

But what if it is not an error and we are missing something important God wants us to know?

If you think it's not an error, then by so mean, go ahead and dig into it yourself. It won't hurt to study.JagLovest ye in Christ Yahshua, Saviour of the world.

I thank you and I have been researching it and asking everyone I can to do so as well.A friend on another site just thinks it is where someone used the same name for 2 different people, but he is also looking into the difference between Luke and Genesis.I just cannot accept there being an error, because all things are explainable without declaring it in error conserning the Bible.

Hi Jag,There is an oversight of that view to consider though about people having more than one name or just spelled differently.Sem. Ge 5:32 7:13 9:18,26,27 10:21,22 11:10 *etc: 1Ch 1:17Shem. Noe. 17:27 Ge 5:29,30 6:8-10,22 7:1,23 8:1 9:1 Eze 14:14 Heb 11:7 1Pe 3:20 2Pe 2:5Noah. Still, I am inclined to think that the link I had provided in my first reply to you shows how a mistake could have been made.

Hi Robin!
But what if it is not an error and we are missing something important God wants us to know?
This link may provide some insights into the matter, but later on, it shows the high probability that it may be a copyist error.http://www.apologeticspress.org/articles/580Still, the consequences are minimal in regards to our faith in Jesus.

Thank you for your reply Pariah.I'm not too concern with the spelling on the New Testament, because it is written in Greek...especially the Chronicles spelling...as long as we get the lineage of Christ in order...to correct the error.
