The best way to communicate to God is through prayer. And one subject most people don't realize is that true prayer takes time, and it isn't a 2 minute thing in front of others or even by your self. Some of the puritans spent upwards to 3 hours just to start the day in prayer.Psalm 66:20Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me.

When I am in deep prayer, time seems to stand still. I am amazed at the time that has elapsed when I stop praying. Deep prayer is also a very humbling experience. I know God's greatness in my innermost being and am amazed at the depth of his love and grace.Blessings,Dunamite

I still have alot of trouble with prayer. It doesn't last as long as I want it to. Also, I haven't prayed in tongues.

Try to pray for people you know for each one seperately, starting of course from those closest to you, and there you go, time elapses! But let us not make it a purpose, just laying down problems and petitions and try to figure out what else to say just to stay longer on our knees and forget the essence of prayer, which is try to unite with God.Praise God!

Praying is an great thing, and long talks with God always make me feel good. But when I pray it usually lasts for about 15 minutes, not 3 hours. When your praying you have to make sure your not just babaling on to make it last longer because your not fooling God with that. I am not saying these people that do pray for that long are not sincere, I am just saying, don't try to drag out your prayer just for the sake of doing it.

I've got a little saying."Much prayer, much blessing. Little prayer, little blessing. No prayer, no blessing."

You don't need to pray in Tongues for anything special to occur. When I pray I speak in a Hebrew Tongue, it edifies me knowing I call upon the Name of the Lord in Hebrew and Praising his name in the old time language.

Many Christians are making a big mistake in prayer. Many think that praying is asking God what we need or want. Many think that it is communicating with God.Many think that it is fellowship with God.All of them are not wrong. But the most important point is seeking God's will in our life.YET NOT AS I WILL BUT AS YOU WILL (Mat 26:39)MAY YOUR WILL BE DONE ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN (Mat 6:10)

Fellowship and Communicating is Just that. Telling the Lord that his Will be done and if what we are asking for is contrary to his will, then Let his will be done nonetheless. Our spirit intercedes with the Lord, thus we get the fellowship and communicating. What do you mean prayer is not Asking what we need? Why do you think in the Epistles of Paul he highly emphasized to pray for one another, not to want, but to pray for everyones needs. For edification. You think the Lord does not delight when we ask him in Faith, Love and Fear to give us edification, to bless that poor man over there?

for me, praying is a very humbling experience, and the least I can do is take at least 10 minutes out of every day to pray for those I love and care about... prayer is what saved my life in the first place, so when I pray, I get so much joy, peace, and understanding out of it because I know for a fact that He does indeed listen.

The whole time during the whole day, each moment you are talking to the Lord you are praying. It's intercession with him in Spirit. I just thought of that today, I was jogging and I was listening to Praise Jehovah, I cried as I spoke to him. It's intercession in Spirit brethren.

now see, I didn't know that until now... I always thought that I had to start of by saying "Dear God" or the like. That opens a brand new door for me in my prayer life.

I like to start my prayer to God by thanking Him for what he has done and what He is going to do. Praise Him and seek to know the heart of a loving savior. Seek his will for my life, to pray for my love ones, to be still and know that he is God. It is in the quiet time of my prayer that I listen to him speaking to my heart. We serve an awesome God!

I desperately long to hear Him talk to me... I've only experienced it once in my life, and I'd give anything to experience it on a daily basis

Some Christians said they don,t know how to pray. They think that there is a method, rule and regulaton to follow and it should be very high flow in using certain languages in prayer. It fact the prayer is very simple. We can pray to God just as we talk to our friend any time, anywhere, any situation. No pre-prayer preparation required except preparation of the mind and spirit. The best and most comprehensive prayer is the prayer Jesus taught in Matthew 6:9-13"'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.' (NIV)
