LIKE LUTHER the world is looking for God in all the wrong places

The reformer called God a hiding God. a God who hides himself ,. Simply because his search for God in all the wrong places reveled nothing of God except that he deserved punishment .. and so Luther punished himself often even whipping himself bloody.
trying to make this God who hides himself pleased with Luther. Luther search for God led him to the scriptures but at first he was looking for God in the scriptures in all the wrong places. you see he looked for God in the laws of God that he knew he broke .But God was not in any of the commandments either. where was this God that hides himself? Luther finaly found him on a very bloody cross dying for the full and free forgivness of his sins with out one string attached to this free and full forgivness this God had won there for Luther. Luther no longer felt any need to punish him self to please a God
who now has revealed his loving nature only in Christ Jesus..

you will not find any God who loves you in scriptures either until you find a bloody cross and Jesus on it for your sins to. until then God hides himself.

You use an interesting approach horsecamp ... and it sound good to me.

But I will add a twist of my own .... God was displeased with mankind (sin) and said we must be punished (put an end to mankind) ... but His problem was he still loved us (in spite of our sin) .... so he decided to save us (some of us) .... he saves the ones who want him (thru Christ) ..... the rest will indeed be punished at some time in the future

the bible speaks of a much bigger love by God in Christ.. it speaks of no strings attached justification accomplished by Jesus not just for those who have faith in Jesus. even for those who will go to their grave hating Jesus AND COULD CARE LESS ABOUT REPENTING ,, yes God even proclaimed them righteous to for his Sons Sake--------- romans 5:18

Well that is strange to say that God and His Word are not one in the same.
John 1:1-2
1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.

God Never changes He is EXACTLY as His Word and, His Word is the same yesterday today and forever. God HATES sins of the flesh and we are to be growing IN THE WORD with the help of the Spirit to take away our sin-ful ways. The law of God is PERFECT, But... by it's self changes no one and only causes death because God's ways are higher than our ways, we have not LEARNED how to walk in God's ways because in our old man we had an unclean spirit that does not know the ways of God nor can receive them. But we have a better covenant in Christ Jesus because we have THE TEACHER the Spirit of God to raise us up in God's Word in Christ.
Whipping ones self is self discipline in all the wrong places. Humble your self to the Word and be SUBMITTED to Christ so that you can learn to be obedient to follow the Voice of the LORD thy God so that blessings will flow and you will no longer need the laws exalted over you because you do wrong, because you will have learned to exalt the Word in your life to be not just a hearer of the Word under the curse... but a doer of the Word walking in the blessing.

im on solid ground here ..you will see that if you read

Romans 7:14 ------------in fact its always a good read to read all of chapter 7 in romans .

a person looking for God wont find a loving God in the law .!. once you find who God is on the cross for ones own sins..

only then will you know the loving God who gave his laws to moses

In-spite of Luthers faults one thing stands out in my mind, he was seeking God, and began his seach in the only avavalbe place at the time and discovered God wasn't there ether. What was it that fostered his realisation of the matter? What was it that spured him to risk being killed and stand up and say Gods not here ether.
