1 If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,
2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: - Philippians 2:1-5.

We have been going in and out of Philippians for awhile. It is a book Paul wrote with the intension of bringing Christ to the forefront of the believers knowledge. You see nothing else written in Philippians but Paul making Christ known in the believer. There is nothing about Israel, there is nothing about law and doing, there is nothing but the clear cut message of Christ in you. That should be noted because Paul had alot to say to believers and in Philippians he only addresses Christ in you as a deep deep message of God. The deepest message in God is Christ in you, it is referred to as the gospel. Why do we call it the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ? Because it is the message to and for the born again by Christ himself. Paul gets his message directly from Christ. There is no other message to the born again. The only message there is to the birthed of God is "Christ in you" because everything you are and do and have spiritually is based on one particular and specific message "Christ in you."

What is the gospel? The first thing; it is the good news. You ever have life go bad quickly and get good news at the same time! That is the gospel, when you think there is no hope and you find out there is. A never ending hope, I used to use the crude analogy of a dog with a bone. A dog with a bone can take your hand off until you throw him a steak. If you feed him steak you can take the bone away then he is satisfied.

Our gospel is a person in you, the believer has to see the gospel for what it is to grow up into grace. It is a clear cut message in Philippians without any divergence, pin pointed to Christ in you. I understand the feelings of believers trying to live a life that is pleasing to God. It feels good to do certain things and we get good at it, but the message of God is way deeper than your doing. Believers should have a back seat if you will compared to knowing Christ. The knowledge of a believer has to give way to Holyspirit teaching to understand there is a message directed specifically to the born-again through the Apostle Paul. Bless you.

@soul man Great thoughts.

I think the activities of Acts 2.42 involve likemindedness also...

PS: 'mind' is a key word in Philippians, isn't it?
Yes it is, based on the verses used you see the mind is a key word. The feel I get for Philippians is it has Paul really bringing out or recognizing Christ as everything to a believer and Christ is God's all for everything even the believer. What I mean is; you get the feel for Christ is all and the believer is part of that by Christ in them, glorious book.

Everything Paul writes comes from "the revelation of Jesus Christ," the indwelling Christ revelation Paul had in Galatians 1. Everything from the point of Paul's revelation has to do with Christ being revealed in other believers. He talks, walks, and ministers Christ as life by revelation from that point on. Christ is life but for a believer to see that they must have a revelation of the indwelling Christ as Paul did. Same revelation, he ministers his revelation of Christ in him so other believers can know and have a revelation of the indwelling Christ as well!

When you talk about every born again believer must have a revelation of the indwelling Christ, the scriptures are true to that. It is not a suggestion in the word, it is imperative in scripture to knowing the Christ in you. It is like mind renewal--it is not a "well maybe I'll do that" it is a must in Christianity for Christianity to work if you will. Christianity is a spiritual entity that is accessed in spirit only, it is not flesh and blood it is more by Christ in you.

Thanks ol' buddy
