Before Red Bull and other hyper-caffeinated (and sugary) energy drinks were invented, Mountain Dew was the choice of computer programmers when they needed to stay up all night working on a project. I liked it, but it goes right through you, probably because it doesn't need to pick up any coloration on the way. My dad referred to it as "TCP", short for "Tom Cat P(iddle)".
But diving down a port-a-john to get a bottle of soda that you could buy at a local 7-11 for a couple of bucks? Has he got it laced with cocaine or something?

True some people are addicted to Mt Dew (and another mention Dr Pepper), which personally I can not stand either drink.
But YIPES, how utterly disgusting … to even considering TAKING food or drinks into a portapot… but to then Dive in to the human waste hole to retrieve a food or drink that has not been consumed is utterly disgusting AND disturbing for any adult with a measurable IQ, to consider, yet alone do.
If that story is “real”, Hard to believe a living man was rescued and only required a brief body rinse, after 8 hours of confined breathing of harmful waste.
Stupid and Gross.
