Mary the Queen of Heaven?

A Catholic diocese is publicly telling families to recognize Mary as “Queen of the Universe,” consecrate themselves to her, and pray to her. On August 22, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Providence published material for the “Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary.” It says Mary was crowned “Queen,” instructs families to give her an honored place in their homes, pray to her, and consecrate their lives and possessions to her. Another Catholic archdiocese published a defense of Mary's alleged queenship the same day.

Why it matters: This is not a minor denominational custom. Scripture never calls Mary the Queen of Heaven, never commands Christians to consecrate themselves to her, and never tells believers to pray to her. Mary herself said, “My soul doth magnify the Lord, And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour” (Luke 1:46-47, KJV). Jesus Christ is the one Mediator: “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus” (1 Timothy 2:5).

Jeremiah's references to the “queen of heaven” certainly do not support this practice. They describe an object of idolatrous worship that provoked God's anger (Jeremiah 7:18; 44:17-25).

Good morning,

Although I stand with Christ and our father, and not in any darkness that might be sown by Satan among men, or that might have snuck into any denomination called Christian among mankind.

The Queen of Heaven refers to something regarding Babylon and Egypt with Sodom.

There are those in India today I have heard, Africa included, perhaps Asian areas that sacrifice to idols of gold and silver, and precious things of earrth.

Likewise there are those that worship old Greek goddesses of the Roman type, taught from before and after Christ regarding Babylon from Daniel's time as contained in the book of Jeremiah.

You can still find her described, I think, in some countries folk religions, or India I think, Africa as a sexual goddess or other versions of that female. The male dark being of Babylon I'm not sure is mentioned except in Daniel's book.

Those religions blasphemy God, by calling God as a sinner, or painting him out that way, as they attempted to do in Sodom and Egypt against our lord Jesus the Christ. Jesus in fact whom honored our father in heaven with a pure and holy sacrifice of his life, out of love for us, God's children. Therefore we honor him.

God is of course good, virtuous, the holy beeing, without blemish or flaw, perfect of law, redeemer of his people. The savior and messiah of his creations. Also the creator.

The destroyer, as created thru the fall, by that old serpent thru Eve and Adam, is the darkness of death, which is sin. Also sin and death are disobedience to the laws and commandments of the almighty God, death is defiance of God's commandments.

Therefor, that God loved his creations sought to redeem them thru Christ our lord, and succeeded for those that desire to know him and his ways.

Ashtoreth was the Queen of Heaven; The Mother god of the Canaanites. During Jeremiah's time, idol worship was a family affair. That's why Jeremiah 7:18 mentions children and fathers and mothers involvement in idol worship.
