Jim,

5. Since these Hebrews minds were on physical food, they did not understand what Yahoshua just told them. So they ask a question. John 6:28 KJV, "Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?"

6. John 6:29 KJV, "[Yahoshua] answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent." So, Yahoshua repeats the answer He gave in verse 27 above. Taking verse 27 and 29 together He is saying, "Labor for food (spiritual understanding) which endures to everlasting life, I am giving you that food (spiritual understanding) through my teachings - in other words, believe in Me. Believe in Me because the Heavenly Father has sent and approved Me."

We started in verse 26 and now we're through verse 29. Do you see anything yet that describes communion? If so, where in these 4 verses is it?

BTW, where is the church you know of in the NT. Please identify it by book, chapter, and verse.

That's not at all what "He is saying." That is your personal perversion of what "He is saying." But, making up your own "words of Jesus" and substituting them for what John wrote does not change what Jesus said. If Jesus want to say your words, He would have used them. He did not.

So either believe Jesus or reject His words. It's your choice. (And it appears that you have chosen your words over those of the Lord.)

If you don't want to believe Jesus then just don't believe Him. You don't have any need to justify or explain to me your refusal to believe the words exactly as they are preserved in your KJV translation of the INERRANT word of God.

It is Jesus to whom you will have to give your explanation as to why you believed yourself qualified to contradicted His words and to correct Him by substituting your own words for His.

And in the English-speaking parts of the world, we use the name "Jesus" rather than trying to impress us all by using "Yahoshua". (Which is actually spelled "Yĕhowshuwa` ") It's not working. You need to spell it correctly if you want to impress anyone.

If the Greek name (Ἰησοῦς ) was appropriate for the primitive church it should be good enough for you.

NASB

I am the living bread that came down out of heaven; if anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread also which I will give for the life of the world is My flesh.

Douay-Rheims

I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, for the life of the world.

Very similar translations yet the wording can give a different emphasis or nuance.

Jim said: That’s not at all what "He is saying."

Z responds: Did you even look at what He said? Obviously not. He said: “Ye seek me…because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled…labor not for the meat which perisheth. So they asked Him, What shall we do? His answer was for them to believe in Him.” These are not trick questions and answers, this is a simple dialogue.

But you, Jim, say that’s not at all what He is saying. But then you offer no alternate. If this is not what He is saying, what part of these verses do you suggest that we erase from the Bible?

Then you enter into waters that you have no clue about which you speak (not that you have a clue about the first subject either).

Jim said: in the English-speaking parts of the world, we use the name “Jesus”.

Z: That’s an utterly absurd statement. Have you been to all the English speaking parts of the world? I’ll answer for you, No you haven’t. So how would you know? I’ll answer for you again, No you don’t know.

Then you continue with more ignorant statements about the spelling of His Name. It doesn’t matter how it is spelled. Let me repeat that for you because I know you keep your hands covering your ears a lot, it doesn’t matter how His Name is spelled. It matters how it is pronounced. As long as the spelling used, leads a person to the correct pronunciation, this spelling of His Name in a particular language has served its purpose. You spelled it twice and neither spelling leads one to the correct pronunciation.

Besides, I'm sure you're not aware, but the KJ translators did not pronounce His name the same as we do today. "Jesus" as you prefer to say is a rather recent pronunciation on the scene. My, my! What was He called for 16 to 17 centuries before that?

As far as me trying to impress anyone, I think all you need to do is check out a few of my posts. The last thing I’m trying to do is impress anyone. I serve God, not man. You, on the other hand, are trying to impress yourself and dog and your cat and the donkey down the street. You are full of yourself. You can’t imagine that everyone is not the same as you are. Learn to fear God: Proverbs 8:13 KJV, "The fear of [Yahowah] is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate."

Ah! Did you think I was interested in continuing responding to your opinions?

My mistake. I apologize for creating that impression.
