But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.- matt 6:33

I see JWs quoting Jesus often, with the above verse. I have heard you describe what seeking the kingdom means, but can you tell me what you believe Jesus meant about righteousness? How do you achieve that righteousness?

@Keiw There hasn't been a single day in your life your heart told your mind to seek Jehovah's righteousness first. A true followers heart does it 24/7-365
@Keiw that's from another thread to another poster, Keiw. I'm asking you to explain to me how do you seek Jehovah's righteousness?
Can you explain that to me, please?

By obeying Jesus=Man does not live by bread alone but by EVERY utterance from God=OT-NT the learning NEVER ends. And living now in this satan ruled system doing Jesus' Fathers will over self( Matt 7:21)-Putting Jesus' Father above everything, includes-job, family-friends etc.

Hi Keiw,
Thank you for responding to me. I agree with you that we should obey Jesus.
Why do we desire to obey Him?
Could it be that it's because He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit?

I starts with His Spirit abiding in us, because He is our righteousness; He is the source of our righteousness.

His Spirit, works in us to lead and guide us according to truth and righteousness.

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), 10 finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. Ephesians 5:8-10

IOW's that our lifestyle, our walk would be according to the Spirit rather than according to the flesh.

I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. Galatians 5:16-17

  • For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh;

We must form godly habits whereby we invest our time (sow) towards the things of the Spirit rather than the flesh and the world.

Disconnect from the world and spend more time in prayer, fasting, worship and the word and you will begin to cultivate quality Spirit led Habits that lead to a Spirit led lifestyle.

Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. 1 John 2:15-16

Hi JLB, I dont think we've ever met before. Nice to meet you.

Absolutely, walk in the spirit = life or in the flesh= death.
Can we have the spirit of God if we don't belong to Christ?

For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. 2 Corinthians 5:21

He took our sin, and imputed His righteousness to those who believe.

He dwells within the new nature of our born again spirit by His Spirit, leading and guiding us into all truth that we would be those who practice righteousness, being led by His Spirit to walk in His righteousness... even the righteousness of faith.

No, as I have said, those who are "in Christ", must walk according to the Spirit.

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. Romans 8:1

The only ones actually getting saved are those who endure until their end( Matt 10:22) -- Thats why no mortal man has the right to tell another--you are saved--he does not know. Only blind guides say it.

If the trinity based religions had holy spirit, they wouldn't be such a mass of confusion. And could easily understand--no division( 1 Cor 1:10) but they can't.

Those who believe=obey. As Jesus assures these who believe-Matt 7:21-23-will hear those words as judgement.

Yes, those who believe obey Him. --- We are coming at this from opposite ends.
You think what we need to do is become Jws and obey what JW governing body tells us = righteousness. Agree?

Luke 10:16--He that listens to you( Jesus' real teachers on earth) listens to me(too), and he that disregards you, disregards me( too). He that disregards me disregards him( Jehovah) that sent me forth.

thus one best listen to Jesus' appointed teachers the same as listening to Jesus. A mortal has 0 choice in the matter if they desire to be saved.

Ok- sure- let's look at this closely. Matt 7:15-23

“Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they? 17 So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 So then, you will know them by their fruits.
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. 22 Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.’

Verses 15-20

Jesus spoke of false prophets.
They seem like believers but beware.
Did their prophecies come true?
Do they teach the same true gospel that the apostles preached or another?
We will know them by those answers.

Verses 21-23
We must do the will of God. What is that? Believe in Jesus and love one another.

The Jesus goes on to tell us that many will say,
"Lord didnt we PROPHECY in your name?" See above (context matters) Obvioulsy false prophets.
"Didnt we cast out demons in your name?"- Obviously they were frauds --satan can't cast out satan.
"Many miracles in your name"?- Obviously not- (miracle holy water anybody?- send me your money!!....)

Jesus will tell them He NEVER KNEW THEM- they did not belong to Him, ever.
They practiced lawlessness.
All sin is lawlessness- those who practice sin dont know Him. But Jesus specifially warned us about these.
Jesus is telling us that you can say you believe in Him- but do you practice sin? And he listed 3 sins that many will have..each one rooted in lying. Falsely claiming to bring messages from God. They claim to bring from God the true message of salvation, but their claim is false. Or casting out demons and miracles- but it is false.

I stay far away from those & will never make excuses for them. Do you?

But false prophets also appeared among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves. 2 Pe 2:1

context-- luke 10:8-20

8If you enter a town and they welcome you, eat whatever is set before you. 9Heal the sick who are there and tell them, ‘The kingdom of God is near you.’
10But if you enter a town and they do not welcome you, go into the streets and declare, 11‘Even the dust of your town that clings to our feet, we wipe off as a testimony against you. Yet be sure of this: The kingdom of God is near.’ 12I tell you, it will be more bearable on that day for Sodom than for that town.
13Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. 14But it will be more bearable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment than for you.
15And you, Capernaum, will you be lifted up to heaven? No, you will be brought down to Hades!
16Whoever listens to you listens to Me; whoever rejects you rejects Me; and whoever rejects Me rejects the One who sent Me.”
17The seventy-two returned with joy and said, “Lord, even the demons submit to us in Your name.”
18So He told them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. 19Behold, I have given you authority to tread on snakes and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing will harm you. 20Nevertheless, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”

Are you saying that your leaders are same those people?
Do you bring the same message or a new gospel of 1914?

Yes false prophets who advise all to seek Jesus' righteousness first-Why? Because they do not listen to Jesus who teaches his true followers to seek Jehovah's righteousness first.
