Misery loves something:

Those who have-not
Where both sides are never happy
But yet are united in their misery
The have-not's fight for something

The have's fight for something more
And
They don't seem to realise
They suffer the same condition
And
It's not because they have or have-not.

That has nothing to do anything they have or have-not.

Sounds a bit like Ecclesiastes.
