I think most of these people who voted for Mamdani have no idea of what's happening in the UK and Europe. They just hear the word free and vote for him. But we know nothing is really free.

Do your brother and his wife live in an apartment in NYC? Or are they in another town?

Many years ago someone who attended Julliard in NYC told me she would walk out the door of her nice apartment and there would be winos on either side of her steps. So she came back to Los Angeles.

We all lived in a really nice area of Queens.
I'm here now.
One brother moved to So. Carol.
and one still lives in Queens.
In a house.

Manhattan comes and goes.
Hubby worked there all his life.
It gets better, it gets worse.
Right now it's getting worse - since DeBlasio.
Giuliani was great - he turned it around.

Some aeras of Manhattan are super nice (although I don't care for cities)
some are depressing...
and there's always the in-between.

It's going to get worse.
