In the Bible it says good people would be blessed by God and get good things while evil people would be damned by God and get evil results as a reward.However, the smart philosopher said this is not so, because good people and bad people get struck by bad luck with same random chances.So...What's he saying?

What the philosopher is saying is the same thing that Jesus said in Matthew 5:45When the so-called bad luck hits everyone, that is just the rain falling on the just and the unjust.The former is the result of good and evil, and living in the NT times, we already know that righteousness comes by the grace of our Lord Jesus.

Good and bad things happen to ALL people. NO one is exempt from life's miseries. It's all part of being human. I just keep reminding myself of what the song says: "This world is not my home; I'm just a-passing through. My treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue." I praise God that whatever comes my way I can get through it because He is with me and will never leave me nor forsake me no matter what I do. I am His and He is mine forever! I often tell people that I have no fear of death because I have something better waiting for me. They often give me a funny look like they have no idea what I mean, or maybe they think I'm suicidal. What I am is a child of God living by faith. I may not know what the future holds, but I know Who holds the future. So what is there for me to fear?It's not my goodness. That wouldn't get me anywhere near heaven's gate. The righteousness of Christ will make me holy and acceptable before the Father.

Actually it is more complex than that. Yes, generally speaking, God blesses us for doing what is right. But the Bible also teaches that we are to expect to suffer for doing what is right.
