Acts 5:5,10

5 And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.
10 Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband.

You ever wonder why Ananias and Sapphira were handled the way they were. I spent some years wondering about this, in the New Testament we have a people being handled as though they lived during the Old Testament time of having to do to please God. Now they were alive during the Old Testament, but now there would be a new way, a New Testament to take place. We have the death of a Testator and a new Will and Testament has been written.

Acts 28:28 explains it,

28 Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.

Now the gospel is going to go to the gentiles. The only way for Israel to be saved after Acts 28:28 is like the rest of the world, believe. Up until then they had a privilege of being a people set aside for God. So during the book of Acts period God was still dealing with Israel the only way Israel knew, by using the law to reach them, trying to get them to accept their Messiah.

So the good news is; if you get out of bounds on your truth telling your more than likely not going to be stuck down. There may be a rebuke or two but as far as life and death you will be ok. I have known people that have had that fear, that is torment in full bloom. So Acts 28:28 will be very pivotal in understanding how you are handled in everyday living. This is a very important time element in the scriptures. Gentiles, who have been referred to as dogs even by Jesus himself, are going to now recieve the message of salvation. Think about that, it should roll around on the inside of you untill you see it's importance.

After Acts 28:28, we never have another Ananias and Sapphira, never again is there such great conversions as were added then, and so on. So we can see the difference in the time elements. The church is started on the day of Penecost but no one knew what God was doing. He was beginning to fulfill what was in his heart from before the foundation of the world and that was to be a father to many just like his only begotten Son. Birthed by him to be his very own bonified offspring.

The land the sold was theres to sell.
The price they got was theres to do with as they wanted.
But they could not lie to God and say they were donated 'All the money' they had got for that land.
They could have said 'here is half or a quarter etc' They wanted the cash and the praise for donating all.

Just goes to show how important it is not to hinder the work of God when it is growing rapidly, as in Acts, right?
