Sorry, but I just remembered a book I have in my library. It was written by DEREK PRINCE and named FOUNDATIONAL SERIES. It's 600 pages long. On page 204 he names the 4 different baptisms he believesBaptisms being plural doesn't change doctrines to be plural. This argument doesn't pass basic grammar.
Heb 6;2 is talking about. And the 2nd baptism he deals with, I will quote;
"..there is a type of baptism which is not precisely described by any one word in the NT, but which we may call the
'baptism of suffering'. This baptism is referred to by Jesus in Luke 12:50:
Luke 12:50 But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished!
It is also referred to in Mark 10:38
MAR 10:38 But Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask: can ye drink of the cup that I drink of? and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?
Hillsage; Then on page 232 he deals with the same verse I did. And then adds another one which I will now add to my own list when I teach this to all those who never believe ME. Those 2 verses are;
In ROM 6:3 we read Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Again, in Colossians 2:12
"Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
I do hope you've been around long enough to know who Derek Prince is. Though long dead he was world famous in the Charismatic movement when I was first saved. And he absolutely agreed with my position which means more to me than anyone else here.
