I believe they had stolen what the Nazis needed and felt they no longer needed Einstein. They burnt books and such.
They tried to hide evidence and create war machines. One of which was the atomic bomb.
There were other people important like Einstein involved.
Einsteins theory meant that mass is energy and led to nuclear energy research which included weapons of mass destruction.
Near the end of the war, Germany failed and Einstein made it out of Germany. The Nazis were close to a nuclear weapon at one point. But blocked.
I wonder had they killed Einstein and covered up could they have developed such a devastating weapon and delivery systems back then? And dominated.
