• Matt 19:16 . . And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master
According to my interlinear, a Greek word for "good" is not in that verse.
What you see there is called an editorial insertion; in other words the KJV's
translators arbitrarily penciled it in.
• Matt 19:17 . . And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good?
No other versions of the Bible that I consulted translate Jesus' question like
that.
NOTE: Whenever using the KJV, it should always be compared with modern
translations; and also with the Greek to make sure that what you're reading
and/or quoting is reliable.
