The June 7 issue of the New York Times has a full page account of a young lady 31 years old was sentenced by the Chinese government in September 2004 to 9 years of incarceration. She was picked up by the Municipal Bureau of State Security as she was on her "way to send books of God's word to brothers and sisters." The forced hard labor of more then 10 hours per day, untreated physical ailments that resulted from the extremely unhealthy environment, beatings, and psychological torture are described. This is the kind of torture that early Christians at times had to endure. The persecutions that Americans and citizens of the UK experience pale behind this.
