It seems that controvercial and difficult theologies are very popular in the Christian forums. On the other hand, it is not getting much atteintion when it comes to challenging servanthood.I guess if we focus on the difficult topics, we can avoid feeling fuilty of our poor witnessing for the Lord.We have to remember that faith without deed is dead.hitomi

We also have to remember that works for show without faith are equally as dead. Forums are a place to grow and we all have to look at the meat of the Bible and not just take someone's word for it or learn the very basics and claim that we're suddenly an expert. No offense, but you really don't know much of anything about people's personal lives outside of a forum, so it's very hard to judge what they're doing, IMHO. A forum is not the only mission field by far. Let God judge us all for what we do, and you worry about what you can do.

seems to me that there are plenty of topics, all of them extremely difficult to me. And many of which seem to be difficult enough that people have a need to address them. sometimes discussion helps the individual remove themselves from the Scripture and simply acknowledge, in order that they may see as they are seen. sometimes.my opinion would be something to the affect that the Bible is the great corrective, and we had better be prepared to be corrected if we look into this great Book.most of the discord, imho, is that people are not ready to be corrected by this Book. some of the correctives simple take the believer out of the comfort zone.it is not the individuals fault that these subjects prove difficult and have the need of reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, and while it is highly likely that people bring up Biblically uncomfortable questions and positions, persecuting the person has absolutely no effect on the subject whatsoever. Being that this Book is of a personal nature, we should look to see who this Book is about, and we find it is written to glorify Him. It may be written to us, but the things contained therein are the things 'for His great Name's Sake'.I believe we must endeavor a caution against the ad hominem approach. It escapes the Biblical perview, imo. Ad hominem or "to the man" attacks never prove anything. If person A says that "X is true," and then person B says "Yah well, A is a Communist," that does not prove that X is false. X will be true or false, independently of whether A is a Communist. Even Communists can say true things --so really, personal details about A are irrelevant to X.) The ad hominem focus cannot glorify Him.(I am in no way saying anything about anyone. Just seemed an appropriate place to say what I said. Nothing more.)

It is not so hard to see that churches are not reflecting much of Godly witnessing even though we have plenty of churches and chuchgoers. I guess if we are not aiming Jesus' standard we will not able to see it.In my humble observation, the churches don't want to focus on the problems and if we do we always get heavy criticisms without exception, and the forums are extention of this kind of churches. The Bible tells us to expose the evil deeds of darkness but the churches are busy hiding them.

I agree with your observations of the churches they are more interested in sending their paritioners away feeling good so they will return next week when the collection tray passes by again.Forums on the other hand for the most part are not based on how much money they bring in. I think they are better measure of just how confused and the lack of knowledge the average Christian has.The problem is as Swampfox says you never know someones motives.as you have little personal knowledge of the person posting.Swampfox has always stressed to our staff that we should use the Bible as final authority here at CB and though we can not control all things that our over 500 members post, and we must allow conversations and debates. We try very hard to challenge or delete that which is not of the bible. unfortunately as Epo says many people don't want to hear whats in his word because it makes them uncomfortable, or is not politically correct.

Agree Kriss for they say its not what my church has told me.. and no matter how many verses contrary to it you show them, they stick to their religion. I like what Swampfox says on his byline...Christianity is not a religion, but a way of life. I come to help to bring my life and the things that I have found to be necessary to follow God closely into the open for others to see and perhaps asks themselves or more importantly God, do I need to look at this for my life?
