see, if one is in God's will they maybe understand that God will still allow hurricanes, because after all one reaps what they sow, but perhaps many lives were nonetheless saved by prayer, i don't know. 2 dead rather than 20,000 is significant to me

Wow you got scripture for that statement againt God? God s will for a hurricane dont talk silly. Jesus told us we will do even greater than Him, but your still not getting it. How is people dying in a hurricane sowing and reaping? And wonder if you could explian why we never saw one in sin city .
If this is how you think of God you do not know His will or Him for that matter they go hand in hand.

its not about stopping it, as much as getting through it, and its effects.

don't know if anyone here has been through a hurricane, its quite powerful and relentless. the one they are experiencing hit the beach going from a 3 to a 4 which mean full throttle, like something going down hill gaining momentum. experienced similar with charley in Florida. those people will not only not have power but probably no drinking water its still the dog days of summer it will be relentlessly hot and humid. there will be no gas within a reasonable distance. there isn't any generators for sale unless some hack is charging three or four times as much for one or you can wait in line a home depot that will go around a many acre size building. it will take mouths for the property owners to get their insurance to chough up the doe they promised and families will have to find places to rent that will be sky high in price.

we were fortunate we were just out side the wall, but still sat there in the house watching the thing do its thing. but again its about the Lord being with you in times where you can't do squat about it. King David experienced that all the time. the Israelites experienced that as they left Egypt.

i hope you might see that from my perspective i am now talking to a guy who claims he can heal miraculously with a prayer, yet the hurricane (sickness) that you insist is not God's will still manifested even after your prayer about it, yes?

So now you are a failed prophet, with all due respect.
At least in your model; as i have allowed that your prayers might have saved many lives.

if i were God, i would have wiped out the entire population of the gulf after the Horizon thing tbh. The gulf has been turned into a sewer, not like you can even sit on the beach and still breathe anyway
