I am diagnosed with Post traumatic stress disorder and it destroys my life, I can't read the bible as before , I can't eat or sleep or work as before. Even Psychiatrists say it gonna be chronic and it's hard to treat. Please Any Advice. Thank you, fellow Christians.

Christ is the Joy of your life. Not to minimize your suffering. Trauma is a real thing, I know from personal experience. Christ is greater than our trauma, this I also know from experience. The Joy of your life is Christ, Christ is eternal. Repent, believe, rejoice, repeat as necessary.

Thank you for sharing.

May God help you find the means to live with your affliction and provide a path to recovery.

Is there a community of similarly afflicted people, with whom you can share experiences and discuss potential cures?

Is there a Christian prayer group you can join: a community in prayer can offer special spiritual guidance and support.

Do any of the Psalms speak to you and comfort you?

Blessings.

Hello Peter, I left a church that split in 2007. It left me feeling very anxious attending new churches for about a year. Sometimes I would get to the door of the church I was intending to visit, turn around and go home. But in 2009 I started attending the church I'm now in. It wasn't easy at first. One day at a time, one step at a time. Things might seem bad today but will be better in time.

"Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning" (Psalm 30:5).

God Bless, hope this helps :smiley:

I have no community that related to my illness , this forum is the only place I can share my faith and my life , I am catholic by the way, so I love the Ave Maria. Psalm 51 speaks to me. Thank you so much , my fellow christian saint.

As a survivor of severe trauma from birth, I can tell you there is hope in Christ. Healing is most often a process. Allow the Lord Jesus to guide your steps. He can heal each and every trauma you have experienced. Life won't be perfect and there are ups and downs while we live on this side of eternity, but He has better things for you ....I promise!

As far as struggling to open your Bible ....maybe get the Word in, in other ways ...24/7 audio bible on YT (even turn it on while you're going to sleep at night) ...scripture music, online sermons. Pray and trust God will bring you through this. He will strengthen you.

Do things that build joy ....time outside in nature, time with pets, watching an old funny movie ....enjoying a hobby ....laugh as often as possible.

You're welcome.

Be patient with yourself. Allow God to love you. Express your struggles to Him. He cares!

1 Peter 5:7
“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”

Hebrews 4:15
“For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.”

I won't say the healing process is a piece of cake ...but you'll be able to look back and see progress. Just keep walking. Jesus is with you. He is faithful.

Psalm 34:18
“The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.”

1 Thessalonians 5:24
“Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.”

Philippians 1:6
“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:”

Isaiah 61:1-4
1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.
4 And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.

Jesus can heal you. Psychiatrists are void of any spiritual knowledge or gifts - unless they happen to be Christian. Healing is not something that expired in the 1st Century. Those who are faithful can be healed. Priest, Pastors, Elders of the church lay hands on people, receive prayers and the power of God passes through them. Unfortunately, in many churches - Catholic and Protestant, the clergy believe gifts of the Spirit were only for the 1ST Century and have ceased. I do not believe that. Many people have been healed of diseases and addictions. So regardless of your Catholic membership ( which you can remain in if you choose ), just go visit a Pentecostal Church and ask for their hands-on prayers after the service for healing and believe that Jesus can heal you. Expect that it will be quite different than what you are used to; but know that wherever there are believers in Christ who pray in His name - He is there among you. May the power of the Holy Spirit come upon you and heal you.
