Hi,

I had a question- it is right for me to wait for the leading of God to pray, or should I just do it because the scripture tells us to pray? For example in my prayer time I felt like maybe I wasn't supposed to pray for my building, but I was not sure if this was the leading of God or not. Should I just do it because the scripture tells us to pray (pray without ceasing)? I never have felt the leading of God to do anything, never, not even once, I just have to guess what God wants me to do, I have just been doing whatever comes to me and assuming that I am being led, but maybe this isn't right.

Thanks,

-Dave

I had a situation where I was praying for something for somebody, and I wasn't sure at all that was what God wanted for that person. In fact, I was afraid that God might be actively opposed to it. But I stuck with it (rather stubbornly) for several hours. And oddly enough, God granted that prayer.

Why not do both? Listen for God's leading, but say what's on your heart?

Dave,

It is the will of God that He be with you, and you with Him, all the time. As such, first, you are never alone. As for prayer, He is a friend that is always there--just talk to Him. If you will do that, He will more than accommodate, He will guide and lead you in ways you may not be aware of--but He will. Walk with Him, talk with Him, and things will all work out perfectly...even if it sometimes doesn't feel like it. He is always there, always working, and He is good. You can count on it.
