Raptured here in Virginia

The Pentecostal Churches here in Virginia were all caught up in the rapture teachings. Musicians like the Singing Cookes would sing such music to a lively congregation with folks running the aisles, shouting, speaking in tongues, and (as many liked to say) swinging from the chandeliers. I used to enjoy these type services and would leave with a happy and good spirited soul...

And... I like to drive the hour into these mountains to the Indian Valley Church of God where such teachings also energize and electrify the congregation...

Pastor Chris Wolford holds a poisonous rattlesnake just inches from his face

Chris had mixed a white powder with water to make a clear liquid in the glass jar, before drinking from the supposed "poison".

But just minutes later the preacher is up on his feet dancing and praising God while swinging the - eerily motionless but still alive - snake through the air.

Shockingly Pastor Chris Wolford was just 11 when he watched his dad haemorrhage to death from a snake bite during a service.

His brother also died from the same dangerous practices - but he refuses to lose faith in God and the “Signs” religion.

There is a purity and a cleanliness of Spirit when one anticipates the Lord’s returning as a soon coming event…

Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. - 1 John 3:2-3

As a result we… Like Paul… Rather shake off snake byte experiences…

And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand. - Acts 28:3.

Had to make a reply... There is activity that is not of God. I consider myself Holiness in that Christianity ought to make a decent, joyful, clean, hopeful, and wonderful man or woman. In most cases these days that is not the case.
