From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Matthew 4:17 RSV
Can we say we've repented if we continue to sin?

I think we as human beings continue to sin even if we don’t intend to, we are of the flesh and of this Earth and not Devine like God the Father and his Son our Savior Jesus Christ, so to ask forgiveness and repent even if we unintentionally committed the same sin I’m sure God knows and will accept your repentance and forgive you, but to intentionally keep committing the same sin and knowing doing it, I don’t think that’s forgivable, because you are knowingly repeating the same sin over and over again. From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Jesus did say we need to be perfect as our Father in heaven is perfect (Matthew 5:48).I think we as human beings continue to sin even if we don’t intend to, we are of the flesh and of this Earth and not Devine like God the Father and his Son our Savior Jesus Christ, so to ask forgiveness and repent even if we unintentionally committed the same sin I’m sure God knows and will accept your repentance and forgive you, but to intentionally keep committing the same sin and knowing doing it, I don’t think that’s forgivable, because you are knowingly repeating the same sin over and over again.
I’m sorry but I am not perfect.Jesus did say we need to be perfect as our Father in heaven is perfect (Matthew 5:48).
Perhaps none of us are yet, but I believe we need to be perfect before we enter heaven. Are the Lord's commandments so difficult we can't obey them?I’m sorry but I am not perfect.
I try Bob, but sometimes I slip.Perhaps none of us are yet, but I believe we need to be perfect before we enter heaven. Are the Lord's commandments so difficult we can't obey them?
No we can sin without thinking, are you following me around to start fights such as the thread that was deleted yesterday, when you started coming after me? I won’t fall for it go chastise someone else.Intentionally? All sin is willful, intentional, and usually premeditated.
You will be, brother, you will be. God promised...Perhaps none of us are yet, but I believe we need to be perfect before we enter heaven. Are the Lord's commandments so difficult we can't obey them?
I know, brother. Me too. Me too.I try Bob, but sometimes I slip.
I slip, too. That doesn't mean we aren't going to be perfect.I try Bob, but sometimes I slip.
It would be best to resist temptation at all times. If we fail, then we repent. You will be, brother, you will be. God promised...
Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is. (1 John 3:2)
Of course, you might have to go through death and resurrection like Jesus first.
People, the Bible exhorts us to prepare ourselves for His return by practicing being like Him in avoiding sinful thought, word, and deed; and loving one another. This is an art we practice, not a goal we need to achieve in this lifetime.
Thanks Bob.I slip, too. That doesn't mean we aren't going to be perfect.
@Lambano Great verse there from First John! You will be, brother, you will be. God promised...

Jesus said we need to be perfect as our Father in heaven is perfect. Probably none of us can state it better than that.Thinking you can be 'perfect' in the sense you choose to understand it, and that we must 'achieve' that to get into Heaven means a 'works' salvation, which of course is against what God's Word teaches. We are to strive... to be perfect, even though we know we cannot because of our flesh.
Lord Jesus well knows this too, which is why He told us 'how' to pray here...
Luke 11:2-4
2 And He said unto them, "When ye pray, say, 'Our Father Which art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.
3 Give us day by day our daily bread.
4 And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.'"
