Respectful Bible burning

Recently I bought a Bible for my home altar that was supposed to have green gilded edges. It arrived with white edges so I sent it back for a replacement but they sent me another one that was not gilded. I foolishly tried gilding it myself with a highlighter marker but it turned just as awful as I thought it would. I thought about it and decided that respectfully burning this Bible is the only sensible thing to do.

My first question: how do I respectfully cremate this Bible?

My second question: is there any way to find a Bible that actually looks presentable? I want something that looks like what a Church would use but can't find anything close to it.

Go to the KJV store online and you'll find several nice bibles. Also, I once took the leather cover off a bible with mice print. I threw it in the trash afterwards; and the Holy Spirit convicted me. The bible is God's word and can be given away, rather than burn it, give it to charity.

Jesus is the ONLY sacrifice for All our sins, there are no other sacrifices so an alter is useless.

You don't.
You have a bible so start reading it, praying about what you read and living according to the ten commandments ( not because this has any merit, but because being obedient to Jesus's commands is how we show that we love him. )

The crudier it looks the better in my view.
Spotlessly clean with gilded edges send the message of, 'it hasn't been used while attempting to make an impression'
So, pull it out of the fire and get those dog ears happening. Charred pages are at least a testimony to something....even if it's to your pride.

Somewhere I’ve posted a photo of an old NIV whose binding is held together with duct tape. That old Bible has been with me through a lot of Bible studies.

it matters not how the bible appears on the outside
Its the words within that are our meat . Do not burn it . Keep it .

Throwing a corrupted bible away is a blessing so that nobody else could have it.

Why would you think that you would have to burn/cremate a bible because of how it looks?

The "sensible" thing to do is to give it to someone who would appreciate it!

Donate it to a church. Seriously, there MUST be a few churches near you where you can simply drop it off into a pew, a seat, an altar or even on the front steps!

Trust me...SOME one will come by and pick it up...probably thanking GOD to inspire you do have the heart to DO that!

You’d be amazed at what God can do with something that appears to be “garbage”.

Keep it and study it as a reminder of what Christ can do with a messed-up life.

Take it to a Goodwill store and drop it off and walk away. You'd be surprised that someone could pick it up and God would convict them and save them, and you just planted a seed, and God used you to spread the gospel to someone.

Unfortunately, Bibles have become big business; that's why I never worry about spending a lot of money on one, I don't want to feed their greed. The same information is available in all Bibles, whether they cost $15 or $150.
