The abortion issue is an interesting and very emotional issue. I find it interesting, because I don't see it as a big deal to me and never have. Mostly because I am a male and because I have always tried to be responsible. So, I always figured if I was responsible for a child I would be willing to take responsibility for it. And that was before I knew the Lord. And I didn't actually come to know the Lord until I was just over 40. He did change my thinking, because I liked to reason with Him and listen to His responses

I remember the day I specifically talked to him about abortion. I had talked to my brother, who considered himself a Christian, but he didn't hear from the Lord like I did. He did however take the standard view of the church and agreed with the preaching the pastor had made about abortion - which mirrors the "It's good day" thinking in the OP.

Still, I understood both sides of the argument on abortion. It really comes down to when is a baby a baby! A couple of cells coming together is hard to think of as a baby. Yet at some point is seems you have a baby living in the womb. People don't want to kill babys, but stopping a few cells multiplying doesn't seem bad, and if it helps the lady? So the when can you have an abortion (1st, 2nd, 3rd trimester) seemed to make some sense to me. Still, after finding out I could hear from Him and after that conversation with my brother, I decided to ask Him.

This turned out to be especially interesting because what He said. Now normally when I reason with the Lord He askes me questions to get me thinking. And that was what I was expecting this time as well. I mean, what does "reasoning" with the Lord look like if not that He gets you to reason things out while asking you questions that get you seeing things like He does? That is how it normally works with Him.

So I started up a conversation with Him expecting to reason with Him, putting forth the statements about when a baby is a baby that I have above. The interesting thing was that this time He didn't reason with me! He just told me I was wrong!! He stated boldly to me that life begins when the sperm and egg become one!

He didn't present it as a discussion, but He presented it as a fact. He did however given and explanation why!!!

It is like in the Bible where we read about two becoming one. It is like a Biblical principle, but it is not Biblical at all! It is how God does things!! It is not about what the Bible says, it is about what He says, and the Bible just kind of records some things that He said so we can get and idea about Him. He is into the concept of two becoming one, and especially where life is concerned.

Therefore, when the sperm and the egg come together you have life!! That is the fact He put into effect. It is like a husband and a wife coming together.

Mat 9:5 And said, ‘FOR THIS REASON A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER AND BE JOINED TO HIS WIFE, AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH'?

Mar 10:8 AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH; so they are no longer two, but one flesh.

1 Cor 6:16 Or do you not know that the one who joins himself to a prostitute is one body with her? For He says, “THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH.”

Eph 5:31 FOR THIS REASON A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER AND SHALL BE JOINED TO HIS WIFE, AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH.

Now all the verses above reffer to a man and woman being married and becoming one. That same principle from God applies to the sperm and the egg coming together, because He (God) does things in a certain way. That is what He explained to me.

So leaning on my own understanding, which I did completely until I came to know Him and heard from Him made me uncertain as to when a baby is a baby. Yet coming to know the Lord changed my thinking, because I came to know the Creator personally and He could explain things like this to me.

Still think a bit more!!

God never wants a divorce!! Yet because of the hardness of people's hearts He wound up allowing it!!!

Do we Christians need to talk to Him even more to get a better understanding?????

That is the point I am trying to make! God is going to take care of things, but we need to talk to Him!! He is still a God of great grace and mercy!!

Don't abort a baby and don't get a divorce because the two became one. But let us also make sure we talk to Him about His grace and mercy!! It is an emotional issued!
