Well why were they on school property? I would not want watchtower magazine past out on school property - why should the Gideons get a free pass?

I'll tell you why. Because. the earth is the LORDS and the fulness thereof. He commanded to go forth and make disciples, wherever they be. This is the SOVEREIGN right of the CREATOR and NO law made by man can trump it. Besides, we are talking about the gospel/word of TRUTH here not some cults point of view. The two don't compare!

Your carnal reasoning has exposed you, my liberal friend. :p

Exposed me huh.....yeah ok.

I think your fan mentality has exposed you as someone who wants a double standard for Christians.

No friend, I firmly believe that God's word and his command to make disciples, trumps all mans laws. :)

Then you are placing yourself above the laws of America and you are demanding special treatment.

Hiram Sasser, director of litigation for Liberty Institute, stated regarding "the EEOC's response to their religious discrimination complaint" that: "they pre-determined their decision before getting any evidence."

"The EEOC asked for additional information so they could consider the claim brought by Walt," Sasser said. "They gave him 30 days to deliver the information."
On the 29th day, Tutka delivered the required information to the EEOC. But when he returned home there was a letter from the EEOC dated May 10th – dismissing the complaint because they didn't have enough evidence.

"They predetermined that they were going to reject this claim even though they went through the exercise of asking for the additional information," Sasser told Fox News. "The EEOC had no intention of enforcing the protection for religious liberty found in Title VII that Congress requires them to enforce."

If Bibles are allowed to be passed out in public schools, then there is no reason why Qurans, or religious books of other religions, shouldn't be passed out also. Should children in public schools be handed a Quran?

If you consider that to be liberal, then so be it.

But doesn't no religious view consitute a supported viewpoint for the school in the first place? (Hey, I am just trying to follow out the logic here.)

At the end of the day, I am not worried about Watchtower member nor Muslim member. I believe the truth trumps both. So no, it's not really a concern for me. It apparently never has been for others until recent years, and the laws have not changed. Only mindsets have because of this distorted notion of fairness we seem to have developed.

Would I support Gideon's or anyone interrupting a class to pass out Bibles, Qurans or whatever religios text? Surely not. However, if an organization wants to hand out a religious text then they should have that right. Simply because there is a marketplace for religion out there does not leave me to believe it dangerous that children might be exposed to other faiths. I believe the message of the gospel will overtake that.

hammerstone - I agree, but this view is rare. It seems to me that most Christians want special treatment when it comes to their brand of Christianity. It is getting so bad that I think Christian parents would become more angry about their brand being drowned out by a rival Christian doctrine that they would hardly notice a nonChristian group passing out literature. Finally, who wants this type of fight in school?
