I will always feel
Till the day I die
As I do about you
So don't worry so
About what they say
It's not like there's a hell
Would you want that
For me to be there forever
Really what can they do
After the fact
After it's all over
Did they create the atoms
That they are made from
Did they?
And why are they so sure
About everything they do
As if there's an ultimate reward
It's not like there's a heaven
Would you want that
Where you would be forever
Without me.

Being a defeatist today? Given up on glorious hope?

We are special you and I, the soul was created by the spirit of God and the body from the elements of the earth, and your current soul shall die someday along with its container, although your spirit lives on. Are you not at least a bit curious what will happen to it? You and I never knew our spirits before birth, and conscious at the time, although we know it today, and we will surely know it even more, into the future, next life. This assurance comes from within, base on hope and faith of my spirit. Do you have faith in your spirit, and why it was given, from outside of yourself, outside of your current living soul they call, you or I?

Basically you've just summed up one fsct, that what you feel inside about your faith is enough evidence to go on. You did say "This assurance comes from within" So you hope to persuade me with your feelings? if I just believed, I would feel the same. No thanks, I've been there.

I enjoy reading your poetry. Several things you mention in this one jump off the page at me (and I thank you for that).

1. A person’s thoughts die when the person dies.
2. Hell is the grave.
3. Someone made the atoms.
4. Longing to be together.
5. Heaven is not the destination of the dying.
6. There is no reward.
7. Power of persuasion.

No. How we feel is a consequence of the Spirit we accepted, not the cause. Please don't take what follows harshly.

IMO, both Atheism and Agnoisticism are nihilistic. In the great battle between good and evil, you must pick a side. Time is running out. If you refuse to decide, the decision will be made for you.

I do this in my relationships. If people give ambiguous feedback, I automatically put that in the negative category. True, sometimes I am wrong in the instant but over the long term, such cowards prove what their character is. Cowardice even to have the courage of their convictions. Dinner at 6? Cook out at 2? Participating in the road trip Friday night? A spot is reserved for you but only before I make the reservation and money is on the line. Good intentions do not cut it!

Commitment. What do you have to lose? Everything worth keeping. In or out. By default, you are out. And that's on you. That's on you.

Your poem asked questions. Time for you to answer. Put your big boy pants on and answer. ("I don't know" is not an answer to yes or no questions.)

It's not like there's a hell
An answer! Very non-agnostic of you. Very good. o_O
Would you want that
For me to be there forever
No. And it is not about what I want. A great line from Braveheart is, "All men die but not all men live." God wants you to live. "Choose life" sums up the whole Bible in 2 words. I'll pray for you.

Because for year's you and I butted heads on everything.

Thanks.

I can honestly say that I‘ve never thought of our conversations in terms of a head butting contest.

I meet people where they are; looking for areas of agreement, and then trying to build on it.

As some people know that listing to music is essential in my poetry writing. This was the music track I had on repeat for hour's until I completed the poem:

As I experienced it, you increased my suffering. Particularly when you knew I was homeless and needed compassion.

As I experienced it, you increased my suffering.

It was never my intention to increase your suffering. What, specifically, did I say that caused you to feel that way?

Particularly when you knew I was homeless and needed compassion.

I‘ve offered you compassion many times. I’m truly sorry that it didn’t come across clearly that way to you. Had I known that, I would have attempted to find other ways to communicate it to you.

Thank you for letting me know. I’ll work on it.
