Friends my younger sis. is using her scooter for 4-5 years she has been repairing it more for sometime but today the showroom told that she have to have her engine send to another place and it will be expensive.
She was crying remembering all her challenges.

After having lived in the Asian sub-continent, my experience is that the locals tend to ride their scooters, bikes and cars into the ground without doing much in the ways of maintenance to their scooters, bikes or cars, because of their lack of experience with the vehicles.

Such simple thinks like keeping the chain properly tensioned. I borrowed a bike from a friend in Nepal and i quickly discovered that the chain was slipping on the chain sprockets because the teeth on the chain sprockets had been bent backwards. I had to replace both of the chain sprockets and the chain as well because it had become stretched.

I was in a friend's taxi and had noticed that one of the shock absorbers was no longer working and was causing that wheel to bounce when the car hit one of the many potholes in the road. I said to the owner that he needed to have his front suspension inspected and fixed. The owner immediately stopped the car, got out, put his weight on that particular wheel's suspension springs to depress it and then got off, and said that there was nothing wrong with the car's suspension because he believed that it was working properly from his demonstration to me. He had no understanding, and I was not going to attempt to explain to him what was wrong and that he had to spend some money to fix the shock absorber problem as there was no problem with the coil suspension spring on that wheel.

Perhaps, big brother could read the manual with his little sister to help her understand what she has to do to maintain the scooter in good working condition

From memory, many scooters have two stroke engines and as such they need oil added to the fuel to lubricate the motor. If it is a four-stroke engine, then the oil in the crankcase needs to be toped up between services.

Praying for wisdom to read the manual is probably the first step in owning a scooter.

I think it's better to share about sister's scooter.

In 2016 June, sister purchased new Honda Activa 125.

She does her scooter's service ,& repair from this showroom where she purchased this scooter.

before few months, the problems in her scooter started and for the first time they opened the engine and repaired from that time she has spend few more thousands of rupees, and took more times , her scooter to this showroom for repair and yesterday we took her scooter and they told they will check and let her know, they called and told they have to send the engine to another place and it may cost some thousands of rupees.


I told sister it's better, to sell this scooter and get a new scooter , even in loan so that it will give better average and no major repair needed till 4-6 years.

She has spend more finances in this scooter and now they are asking more and as this scooter was purchased in June 2016, now major problems will be arising.

not sure how , one may understand, but in simple words there is problem in scooters engine, i put forward this prayer request so Omniscient God will bless this matter,

Hi Mel,
It had crossed my mind that she should just sell the scooter as, these things just get worse over time. She put lot's of money into it. Maybe you are correct that she should just sell it for what she can get and just purchase another through a loan. God bless and I hope she will be blessed with a scooter quickly, amen.
