This rescue is two seal pups tied together by heavy fishing rope.
 It's horrible to witness the tragic impact humans pollution has upon innocent victims in our seas.

Thank God they were rescued.

PS, It's weird that we can only like posts now. All the other like emoticons are gone. :(

They are working now. Every now and then they disappear for me too.

It's crazy how much fishing line and other junk is harming those seals off of Namibia.

This is how the seal rescue team started.

Did you read my mind @Debp?

I was wondering if these guys get paid, if its a government initiative or if they are volunteers.
Turns out they are doing this out of the goodness of their own hearts, volunteering. That's just wonderful. I'd be happy to do something like this if I had a place to stay, food to eat and enough money to pay my bills. Iv always thought it would be great to work at a vet clinic or a zoo looking after animals. That would be so rewarding. Maybe I should apply of these kinds of jobs despite having no experience. Who knows, I might get lucky

If you are interested in spending some time in Crete, check out Takis animal shelter. He accepts volunteers... maybe he hires staff too, not sure. I think he provides a place to stay for volunteers, maybe food. He has about 700 dogs, some cats and several goats.

Panoramic view of the shelter:

Takis never gives up on the animals...many are rescued from abusive conditions.
One of the success stories:

These video shows Takis who has devoted his life to helping animals.

As tempting as it is to just drop everything and go to Greece to help out, I couldn't leave my parents here all alone, their getting old now and I need to be close to them. I might try to look for such places around here

This is cute. After being helped, the baby seal doesn't want to leave the rescuers.
@Raccoon1010

This baby seal looked back at his rescuers.
Thank God they were found so to be saved.

Maybe the baby seals want to stay with rescuers because they're starving. And if they lost their mom's,maybe other seal moms don't adopt orphan pups.

I can understand that... you have responsibilities. I took care of my 94 year old mother until she died... two years ago this June 21. Time flies.

Yes you should look for a job or volunteer work with animals. I would think Adelaide has a lot of opportunities like that.

Yes these guys do a lot of great work. I even saw videos where they rescued a few small sharks from shallow water back to the ocean. Also they helped a huge beached whale back into the ocean with some other guys.
