We have talked about separation of soul and spirit some as of late. Paul, who shows us salvation of the spirit is complete by Christ in you, also separated soul and spirit, Hebrews 4:12

12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

The Word of God separates and divides soul and spirit. Christians failure to separate soul and spirit explains why so many never enjoy Christianity.
In spirit I stand perfect before God, in soul--my mind, will, and emotions--I'm not perfect.
I will always be learning in my soul. There is so much more to to learn about this love affair with Jesus who is in us.
When Paul separated soul and spirit, he was able to concentrate on the mind because it is one thing to have Christ in you, and another to know it.
In soul you are always in the process of being saved. Not in the aspective of heaven, that is spirit.
But being delivered in mind. Think about where you started and where you are now, it's day and night, you cannot compare the two.
That is soul growth--mind renewal, deliverance. Keep in mind that spirit salvation came the moment you believed, the cross provided your deliverance.
Just because you don't know something doesn't make it so. It is still fact even if you don't know yet, the mind will catch up to the facts in time.
You must remember that body will not be saved until the resurrection morning, 2 Cor. 1:9-10, explains the three phases of salvation.
Paul introduces us to what happens when we are born again.
The goal of true Christianity is to release the Christ in you so the body and soul, which we call human self, can be overwhelmed and expressed by spirit.
Only Christians who have had a revelation that Christ is their life have an opportunity to become who God created them to be.
It is not enough to just be saved.
If you are saved, you are going to heaven regardless of what you know.
However, to know who you are in this human form is a great understanding and completely changes your life on earth.
God created you to be something special for Him.
Christians who don't know the Christ who is in them will never come to that understanding.

The believer should always 'grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ' (2 Peter 3).

Agreed, 100%. as the apostle peter said,
2 Peter 3:17 "Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.

2 Peter 3:18 "But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

also,
2 Peter 1:4 "Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

2 Peter 1:5 "And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;

2 Peter 1:6 "And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;

2 Peter 1:7 "And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.

2 Peter 1:8 "For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Peter 1:9 "But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

2 Peter 1:10 "Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

2 Peter 1:11 "For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

amen

be blessed.

'There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
.. For he that is entered into his rest,
.... he also hath ceased from his own works,
...... as God did from His.
Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest,
.. lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
For the word of God is quick, and powerful,
.. and sharper than any twoedged sword,
.... piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit,
...... and of the joints and marrow,
........ and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in His sight:
.. but all things are naked and opened
.... unto the eyes of Him With Whom we have to do.'

(Heb 4:9-13)

Praise His Holy Name!

Yes, @Ac28, the word, 'soul' here refers to the whole person animated by the breath of life.

Praise God!

If only people would by faith labour to enter into God's rest through the Person of Christ and His work, instead of relying on their efforts to observe the ceremonial sabbath!
