Rev 5:1 And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.
Rev 5:5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.

Rev 6:1 And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.
Rev 6:2 And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.

White horse:
Rev 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

Mat 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

a bow and a sword.

Gen 9:13 I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.
Gen 9:14 And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:
Gen 9:16 And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.

just some thoughts to start a thread about the seven seals.
Beginning with the first seal. White horse, cloud, everlasting covenant, conquer and conquering, Faithful and True, judgement and war.

What is the difference between the white horse in Revelation Chapter 6 versus Chapter 19?

How does that relate to what is unfolding in the world today?
Is this past, present, or future?
Is it all three?

I never really studied the seals.
I watched a movie once with Demi Moore, but I'm sure Hollywood would skew it somehow.
Thoughts??

Hi, Ziggy. I’ll put down my understanding. Great thread!

So one of the protecting creatures of the Throne is giving us a nice invitation to “come and see.”

Revelation 6:2 "And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer."

This one who rode on this white horse had a bow….but no arrows! Right off the bat, we can see he is a fake, an imposter. He even starts off with deception. The rider of this white horse is Satan, in the role of the Antichrist. Satan will come first as the fake christ, the Antichrist.

This first seal is described in detail in the ninth chapter. This event will catch many Christians off-guard, those who tie themselves to the '"rapture doctrine.” They will worship the Antichrist as the true Christ in ignorance. This is why the rapture doctrine is so dangerous. It ties its followers to the first christ to come—the Antichrist.

The rider of this white horse is not the rider of the white horse who comes with a rainbow around his head and a rainbow around the Throne He leaves. In Revelation 19:11, we see the true Christ coming in all his glory, and then this first rider of the white horse (the deceiving fake of Revelation 6:2) will go into the pit, the lake of fire. And we need to know too that the first rider of the white horse does not come in war, for no arrows are mentioned, but he comes in religious peace whereby many will be deceived.

This has not happened yet, but it’s time to stay awake and watch. I truly admire all the watching you do, Ziggy. :)

The Seal judgements in Revelation, a chronological sequence of events:

Revelation 6:1-17 The first seal - The white horse that conquers nations.

Second seal - The red horse that takes away the peace on earth.

Third seal - The black horse that controls the worlds food supply.

Fourth seal - The pale horse that causes the deaths of 1/3 of mankind.

Zechariah 6:1-8 also describes these 4 horses and verse 7 says how they were released in ancient times, so these seals have been opened already and the world suffers for it, as si very evident by all the wars, famines and plagues that we have experienced over ages.

Fifth seal - The saints: all those who have been slaughtered for their faith in God. They await the final completion of their numbers. This seal is also opened, as it is for all those people killed for their faith, from Abel until Jesus Returns. Matthew 23:35, Isaiah 57:1-2

Sixth seal - This must be the next prophesied event, Rev. 6:17 ‘For the great Day of the wrath of Almighty God and the Lamb has come and who can stand?’ It will be a worldwide judgement of fire, by the means of a massive CME sun strike, that will particularly affect the Middle East, destroying those nations and entities that attack the State of Israel, as described in Psalms 83, Isaiah 34:8, Zephaniah 1:14-18, 2 Peter 3:7

Seventh seal – Rev. 8:1, a period of silence in heaven and a time lapse of about 15 to 25 years on earth. We are told that one day to the Lord, is as 1000 years. S
So, ½ hour = 1/48th of a day. 1/48th of 1000 years = about 20 years

I was considering the first white horse as in the days of Noah.
The "bow" is that which the Lord set down in the clouds after the flood.
There are no arrows in that bow. It is a token of a peace covenant between God and the earth.
I see similarities between Revelation and Genesis as book ends. They tell the entirety of the whole story, yet in summaries not details.
The details are brought out through each book in the bible. As you progress from book to book more details are given.
The Foreword and the Afterword. The Alpha and the Omega. The beginning and the end.

All four horses of the apocolypse are in the book of Genesis.
They all ride through the pages of history, to present, to future.
It is a culmination of what has been, what is, and what will be.
The Bible is the Living Word of God. It is fluid always active and moving.

It is the schoolhouse and the school master never changes.
New students are added daily. And all students are taught from cradle to grave.
There is nothing new under the sun.
Ecc 1:9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.

Rev 1:19 Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter;

Isa 46:10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

And we need to know too that the first rider of the white horse does not come in war, for no arrows are mentioned, but he comes in religious peace whereby many will be deceived.

Rev 6:2 And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.

Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Gen 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
Gen 1:3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
Gen 1:4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

Joe 3:13 Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get you down; for the press is full, the fats overflow; for their wickedness is great.

Rev 14:14 And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle.

Luk 21:27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

Act 1:9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.

Rev 14:16 And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped.

Rev 6:2 And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.

Rev 10:1 And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire:

Gen 1:3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

When reading the book of Revelation, do you see the threats as, against those that believe or those that believe not?
This first white horse, is He for us or against us?
Who or what is he coming to conquer?

Does the book of revelation bring you fear or peace?
How do you hear it?
The first time I read the book it freaked me out. Dragons and locusts, blood to the horses bridles.
It scared me.
I don't see it that way anymore.
Because I know that God's purpose is Good and for those who believe that He IS.

So I see it depending on which side of the battle line you are on, darkness or light?
If your on the dark side.. the Light is coming for you. And you should fear Him who brings the light.
If your on the light side.. there is no fear, because you are watching from the advantage point that was given to John.

I don't believe the first horse is the anti-christ. I believe it is the Light coming to conquer the darkness.
And in his hand is a bow. I see the same bow set in the clouds as a token of peace, the covenant God made with the earth.
But if they will not accept Peace, then it becomes the sickle in which light and dark is divided.
Going forth conquering and to conquer.

Where does it say the first white horse is the anti-christ?

This is just my perspective.
I don't always go along with "main stream news" about what or how I should understand the Bible.
Who says they are right? or wrong?
Is it by consensus? Is it a majority vote?
I'm still in the schoolhouse learning..
so bear with me.. :)
Hugs

What is the difference between the white horse in Revelation Chapter 6 versus Chapter 19?

I think both are Jesus.

How does that relate to what is unfolding in the world today?
Is this past, present, or future?
Is it all three?

I think all three.

Past, present and future.

Continuous.

I never really studied the seals.
I watched a movie once with Demi Moore, but I'm sure Hollywood would skew it somehow.
Thoughts??

I missed the movie.

I wonder what ever happened to her?

Is she still married to Bruce Willis?

I doubt it.

The seals are big.

I wish I could do justice to their unpacking.

Most of the people will get mad when I say what they are.

But I think it's important to consider because, if the first couple of seals are as chock full of symbolism as I think they are, then the last couple of them may be happening right now in ways that people are not expecting.

The first three seals are not bad things at all, they are about good things. And an example of the importance of not ever putting the Bad Guy in the spot where Jesus belongs.

"I watched as the Lamb opened the first of the seven seals. Then I heard one of the four living creatures say in a voice like thunder, “Come!” I looked, and there before me was a white horse! Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest.

That word for "bow" is the word for a bow made out of fabric, like a blue ribbon given to the winner of a race. And the crown is a stephanos crown also given to One that is victorious.

stéphanos – properly, a wreath (garland), awarded to a victor in the ancient athletic games (like the Greek Olympics); the crown of victory

The first seal is about Jesus. It is the Gospel message that salvation comes through faith in Jesus only, and not in what any church tells us to do. The first seal was opened in 1798, after the Pope died in a French jail cell and the Vatican was shut down. Prior to that year, the message of the first seal could not go out to conquer. The Catholic church had kept the Bible and it's true message under lockdown. People like Martin Luther and William Tyndale were on the run from the Pope's persecution.

"But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

"When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, “Come!” Then another horse came out, a fiery red one. Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth and to make people kill each other. To him was given a large sword.

This seal is about the Bible. The translation and printing of the Bible in mass numbers. The opening of this seal, in the early 1800's, guaranteed that the Bible would eventually become the world's best selling Book. Again, this seal could never have been opened during the Foxe Book days of medieval Europe. Prominent people, like William Tyndale, were burnt at the stake for attempting to translate or print the Bible. Today, to speak just of English, there are more than 900 translations or paraphrases of the New Testament in whole or in part into our language. Nine hundred! Luther and Tyndale would never have imagined it.

"For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

"When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come!” I looked, and there before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand. Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, “Two pounds of wheat for a day’s wages, and six pounds of barley for a day’s wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!”

The trick to this seal is the wheat, the barley, the oil and the wine. These are the wages Solomon used to build the Temple in 2 Chronicles 2.

“The temple I am going to build will be great, because our God is greater than all other gods. But who is able to build a temple for him, since the heavens, even the highest heavens, cannot contain him?

“Now let my lord send his servants the wheat and barley and the olive oil and wine he promised, and we will cut all the logs from Lebanon that you need and will float them as rafts by sea down to Joppa. You can then take them up to Jerusalem.”

Who is able to build a Temple for Him? Jesus said in three days He will raise it up. But first He has to begin by judging each of the dead. On this rock I will build my Temple.

"And upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. ...

The third seal was opened in 1844. This is when Jesus opened the Books and began judging the dead and building His Temple one stone at a time.

The scales in the riders hand are like the scales of Lady Justice at the Supreme Court.

Like Daniel's Tekel.

"Tekel, you have been weighed in the balances and found wanting;
But take heart,
He has overcome the world.
