I engage Christians on numerous platforms and share scriptures with them regarding various topics and EVERY time they REJECT God's words in favor of their own personal opinion. It's pointless.

As the ages pass, more and more Christians are DIS-united in the things of God. We're all over the map and nobody can agree. I thank God for my sisters as, we can get together at least once a week and talk of God and the bible all the time, for hours on end and the time flies. We do not ever argue over things although we may disagree on what a thing means but, not to the level of arguing. But talking to others claiming Christianity is taking a great chance you will make an enemy :(

Maybe relook at . . . your approach . . . to whom you address . . . the Scriptures . . . your intentions/motives . . . God's giftings and plans for you.

Much love!

Most Christians are brainwashed and cannot and will not accept that they may have misunderstood some. They believe that their understanding of God and of existence is infallible and reject what God says.

I know just a few Christians that have enough humility to accept that their understanding might be incomplete. You show me 100 Christians and I can guarantee you that 97 of them are hardcore certain that their understanding is perfect. There's no point in even sharing God's word with them. They're unreachable. At least they believe in God, unlike the hardcore atheists.

Hmmm. To echp what @marks said, this post implies that you might just be the keeper of genuine knowledge, whose mission is to fix fellow man's error in understanding.

There is so much IDOLATRY in Christianity, regarding knowledge in general and doctrines in particular. Fortunately, is not much of a doctrinals purity test to be saved. So, it's much ado about nothing IMO. YMMV.

So if you have the scriptural knowledge on a subject or even many subjects of the word, share it with love and assertiveness and hope 1 out of 100 will be persuaded by your words. That is a victory for me. If not, go to another subject. And you may even learn some new facts yourself along the way, by other believers. Do not set your expectations too high as you have already indicated in your words you have posted. You have to be realistic and realize that you yourself are lacking some knowledge in some areas of scripture. I wager I can can pose a subject of the Bible you know very little about. How will you react to it(rhetorical)?

We are all dealing with complex human personalities as you know and here are some of the common types I have come across over the years regarding any debate or discussion on any topic.

Some have the 'true' knowledge of a word of God although with lousy communication skills, with little manners and little lost love to boot. Then there are many that lack the knowledge and either are too stubborn for help or acknowledgment of it or attempt to deflect your views to some other area, to confuse and cause chaos when they are found wanting. Then finally I meet those with love and great communication skills that do not know the word that well and still smile at you, whilst inside they are saying you are wrong, and they will never compromise and even attempt to review your angle or view.

So ask yourself what is my goal(objectives) in sharing the word of God to others?

I'm frustrated with trying to help my Christian brothers and sisters because I provide scripture and the overwhelming majority of the time they reject it.

I don't pretend to know or understand all or even a lot of it. I'm willing to listen and to be persuaded; most others are not willing.

I suggest you attempt to qualify the listener. Don't throw Pearls before swine.

If you are frustrated, maybe that is God's way of telling you he does not want you on this path for his burden is light and his yoke is easy.

Christians I know aren't like this. But humility increases as the believer matures in the Lord. And in some circles a fleshiness may persist. We are to build each other up in love, the body builds itself through our love for others, we ourselves are to serve one another out of our love one for another.

Much love!

I'm not singling out anything here . . . I've never even met Patrick, who am I to say?? Only that, clearly, if this is the result, something's not matching up there.

Much love!

I would ask, do you consider your opinion in line with God's word? Well, they probably do as well. Could it be that just as you consider their ears closed, they consider yours?

Proving anything to those who consider themselves sufficiently informed and are not interested in your opinion is like trying to stop the tide.....why bother?
The question is, are you open to hearing yourself? ....and how do you determine this?
