What's wrong with God's people having nice things ? Does'nt He give us the desires of our heart ?

Depends on the desire, I think that if we are His people we should desire the things of the Spirit and learn to be content with what we have in the natural.
1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

I think that it is alright to have things as long as the thngs don't have us...we are Blessed to be a Blessing... not to just hoard it upon ourselves.
This is exactly the truth of it. God blesses those He trusts with abundance becasue he knows they will sow it into the lives of others.

What are you gonna do? I could have used the money, but I am not starving and I am still able to do God's Will - God is good!
A little trip overseas to poorer nations outside the Christian west is still an eye-opener. Most of us living in the west are richer than much of the rest of the world, especially more than nations that know not Christ Jesus.

All things belong to God, not us. We are not to be mastered by any of it, and our desires are to be of things not of this world. I have been blessed greatly (that can be subjective as to what one may consider great), hence the ability to post on this site at all. As for the blessings, I have already walked away from it all once, with God and His will as my desire. I was returned to those blessings, and thank God for it, yet it is still Him I desire. So I would say if nice things are the desire of your heart, maybe you should rethink your desires. That is not to say I don't like or even have nice things, yet my motivation and drive is not on having nice things, rather pleasing God.
As a child my mom would say, "You better become rich with the expensive tastes you have." In accordance with my society I am far from rich, and I live modestly, yet I still have nice things. I would rather get something nice and keep it that way, as opposed to settling for something not as nice and have to continually work at making it better. Buy it once and be done with it, I have heard some say. When asked should I get this one or that, my response is typically, "Just get the nicer one." That does not mean everything I get has to be top of the line with all the bells and whistles, simply something constructed well being able to maintain all the tasks I would require of it. The name on the tag really means nothing to me.
As mentioned above, other countries have much less than western society. In America there is the whole wall street movement, and they are against the 1% richest in society. When taken to a global scale, you need only make $30,000 per year to be in the top 1% richest in the world. Needless to say most of those wall-streeters are the same rich fat-cats they despise.
