Son of God or Son of Man

For some reason it always bothered me when Jesus called himself "Son of Man"

I would much prefer "Son of God"

In other words Jesus as "Son of God" is really something to us

As "Son of Man" ... is not really a big deal (to us)

At least that is how I saw it until I considered the following:


We humans (men) see Jesus as Son of God ,

But Jesus Himself was already God , but for him come down here to be born a human was a big deal to him ,

Thus the "Son of Man" label

I think it has more to do with his genealogy as the "Son of David" in the line of Kings.
Also because he is the first born of all mankind to be resurrected.
