Ephesians 5:18-20
Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Let us encourage each other with scriptures and with words from our favourite hymns.

Isaiah 40:
28 Have you not known?
Have you not heard?
The everlasting God, the Lord,
The Creator of the ends of the earth,
Neither faints nor is weary.
His understanding is unsearchable.
29 He gives power to the weak,
And to those who have no might He increases strength.
30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary,
And the young men shall utterly fall,
31 But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.

Posted this elsewhere, but it has come up in cycle and it is such a beautiful song.

It's a revisiting and tip of the hat to one of the most famous Christian songs of all time.

Amazing Grace.

Over time you've healed so much in me
And I am living proof
That although my darkest hour had come
Your light could still shine through
And though at times it's just enough to cast
A shadow on the wall
Well, I am grateful that you shine your light on me at all
Who am I that you would love me so gently?

Who am I that you would recognize my name?
Lord, who am I that you would speak to me so softly
Conversation with the love most high
Who am I?

Well, amazing grace how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost but now am found
Was blind, but now I see
And the more I sing that sweet old song the more I understand
That I do not comprehend this love that's coming from your hand

Who am I that you would love me so gently?
Who am I that you would recognize my name?
Lord, who am I that you would speak to me so softly
Conversation with the love most high
Who am I?

Grace, grace, God's grace
Grace that will pardon and cleanse within
Grace, grace, God's grace
Grace that is greater than all our sin

Who am I that you would love me so gently?
Who am I that you would recognize my name?
Lord, who am I that you would speak to me so softly
Conversation with the love most high
Who am I?

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound
Amazing love, now flowing down
From hands and feet that were nailed to the tree
His grace flows down and covers me.

And covers me, and covers me, and covers me, and covers me
And covers me, and covers me, and covers me, and covers me
(With descant- Grace, grace, God's grace)

Who am I that you would love me so gently?
Who am I that you would recognize my name?
Lord, who am I that you would speak to me so softly
Conversation with the love most high
Who am I?

Lord, who am I?

I will look into that, still getting used to the site. While a lot of people think my chosen name is about walking on water, its not. Jesus walked on a sea not a river ;) No it is a nod to my favorite Bible hero John the baptist, someone not afraid to speak the truth regardless of consequences, and when the time came He was ready to step back and let Jesus come forth.

Another tribute to one of the more famous passages of scripture:

29 He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength. 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary and the young men shall utterly fall. 31 But those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint. (Isaiah 40:29-31)

Also posted previously, but his came up in cycle as well and worth a repost; verses and lyrics included.

Arise and be comforted
For the Lord, He is good to the weary
And even the young heart can tire and fall
But He knows them all

For the Lord, He will renew their strength
And they will soar on wings as eagles
And they will run and never grow weary
They will walk and not grow faint
For the Lord, He is good

Lift your eyes to the heavens
For the creator is living in you
Come surrender as you are

And know that you'll never stray too far
Let His power within you heal your heart
Lift your eyes to spacious skies
Let Him chart your way to flight

Spread your wings and fly...
For the Lord, He is good

The Lord has regarded my helpless estate, and has shed His Own blood for my soul!

It is well with my soul!
