Strange Washington state ballot question

Washington state here. I voted yesterday in the presidential election and noticed just before the voter part of the president it asked two questions each was something like this, there were two check boxes:

1. Are you a democrat who would never vote for a republican. Yes or No.
2. Are you a republican who would never vote for a democrat. Yes or No.

I think it was a mandatory question if you wanted to vote. At least that's how it looked.
