Hey everyone, I’m really struggling with anxiety lately. I just can't seem to shake this feeling of worry, and it’s really overwhelming. I know I should trust in God more, but it's just so hard right now. Does anyone have any advice or resources that might help me find some peace?

Take a hard look at what is worrying you, is it particular things or just a general anxiety?
How realistic are your fears? What can you do about those concerns?

Is there anyone you can ta.k to about your anxities?

If these don't help it's seek medical help from therapy and medication to calm your mind.
( if your anxieties are causing sleeplessness you will need medication to enable you to get on top of your anxiety and so that counselling/therapy can help you cope )

I can only say what the bible says which is:-
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." Philippians 4:6

Obviously that's easier said than done. Does your worry come from fear? I don't know what else to say really except that I'll pray for you. There is also this verse in the bible:
Be still, and know that I am God; Psalm 46:10

And once God said to me in a time of distress, 'Just be and let Me' and that took all the pressure off/

There also many places where we are told that God is in control but my favourite, which has helped me many times is this one:

2 Chronicles 20:14-17

Then the Spirit of the Lord came on Jahaziel son of Zechariah, . . . as he stood in the assembly.
He said: “Listen, . . . . . This is what the Lord says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s. Tomorrow march down against them. . . . . . You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you, . . . . . . . Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you.’”

You're under attack. That should come as no surprise. Put on the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness (that spirit is not of God i.e. it is one of Satan's). Read the whole of Isaiah chapter 61 (only 11 verses).

Try meditating on some comforting verses from God's Word the Bible. That is, mull the verses over... don't just read in a hurry. When anxiety comes, remember those verses. It's your sword of the Spirit, the Word of God.

Matthew 6:25-34 (NKJV)

25 "Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?
26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?
28 So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin;
29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
31 Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?'
32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble."

Two things came to mind as I read your post. One of them you mentioned yourself - faith. I think faith is a big part of it.

And another very important thing: obedience. When we don't obey the Lord's commandments, it becomes a lot harder not to worry.

These are the two things I would look at first.

I spent years in a cold sweat, paralyzed by an anxiety that felt like a physical weight on my chest. I tried to pray it away, but when the silence got too loud, I started using alcohol just to 'quiet the noise' so I could function. I eventually realized I was trying to fill a spiritual void with a chemical poison, and it was killing me.

One morning, after a particularly dark night, I felt a profound sense of peace, not a 'high,' but a clear voice in my heart telling me I was meant for more than a life lived in a bottle. I decided right then to honor the life I was given.

I chose Legacy Healing Center in LA because I knew I needed a real, clinical detox to clear the wreckage I’d created.

Letting professionals handle the 'chemical reset' was my way of taking stewardship over my body again.

Once the fog lifted, I could finally hear what God was trying to tell me all along. You aren't a failure for being anxious; you might just need to clear the static so you can hear the truth.

I am sorry you went through this, do you know where this anxiety comes from ? I used to be anxious too but I put my complete trust in God since then I live day by day and don't care about yesterday or tomorrow as I cant do anything about it, there is no point, also know Jesus is close by and will not abandon you.

I think anxiety is part of our human nature; otherwise, Paul would not have told us not to be anxious but instead to pray to God about it. Then His peace will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

Hey Jimmy. I too struggled with anxiety most of my life and also as a young believer. You have the partial answer right in your question. That may not be what you want to hear. I can only tell you that until I brought my anxieties before the Lord and asked for His help I continued to struggle. I tried everything-- alcohol, meds.. they work great until they wear off.
Finally. I decided to really trust God's promises.
@Pearl hit on the one that struck me first.
First we have to trust that God does keep His promises. Are these words true or not?

Isaiah 26:3
You will keep in perfect peace

all who trust in you,

all whose thoughts are fixed on you!

I decided I had to believe God. He doesn't lie to us. It's certainly not as if that is the only place it says this..
posters here have given you some of the scriptures.
Write all of them down.
Tape them around your home- in your car- wherever you go often. Learn them. Let the words sink into your heart. Recite them out loud. -- Believe God.
Here is a list of 30 verses-- Maybe take 5 at a time.. Meditate on them.

Pray! Talk to God about your worries like it says- cast your anxieties on Him. Do it. Not in a rush but take time to sit and pray and spill it and sit in the quiet and listen. Keep doing that.

He may very well show you things to change in your life..
For instance: do you watch or read the news a lot?
do you watch scary movies?
are you lured to reading or watching disturbing things?
You may want to realize that what we put into our minds really matters..!

Focus on the GOOD.
Philippians 4:2-9

2I urge Euodia and I urge Syntyche to live in harmony in the Lord. 3Indeed, true companion, I ask you also to help these women who have shared my struggle in the cause of the gospel, together with Clement also and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the book of life.
4Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! 5Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near. 6Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
8Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. 9The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.

It truly is a matter of trusting God's promises and allowing Him to help you. For us, I think it's a matter of how much we want it. You can have God's peace. The world has no peace to offer you.
Draw near to Him and he will draw near to you.
Keep your eyes on Jesus---
Hebrews 12:2-
fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

I wish you peace!! He is faithful!

Put on "the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness" (Isa. 61:3) and witness the devils of depression flee.

Amen, brother! This has been my experience countless times over the last 40 years .... entering into the presence of God with thanksgiving, praise, and worship ....it is warfare. David's music on his harp drove demons away from Saul. Godly music, singing, worship ....

Ephesians 5:19-20
19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; 20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

Yeah, it's awesome how, when we utilize godly frequencies, the enemy flees. Thus, it's perfectly understandable why the enemy would pervert frequencies for his diabolical purposes...
