Hi everyone, I'm studying 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 right now:

"What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's."

I'm working through what it means to treat the body like a temple, and what "ye are not your own" and "bought with a price" look like in everyday life. I'm still learning, so if you've studied this passage, I'd love any advice, insights, or things that helped it click for you. Thanks!

What helped it click for me is that "not your own" sounds heavy at first but it's more like being looked after than owned. Verse 20 says you were bought with a price, so your body matters to God, and in everyday life it's less about a rulebook and more about asking whether how you treat yourself honors Him. Sleep, what you feed your head, who you let near you, that kind of thing. Romans 12:1 says it kind of the same way, offering your body as a living sacrifice.
