In Exodus 12, we see that God has given freedom to his people, at a price, the price is blood, but not their blood but the blood of a substitute, lambs and goats that were slaughtered nd their blood painted on the doorposts of the houses in Goshen. 3500 years later, the "Lamb of God" shed his own blood, for us all. HE is our substitute for sin. HE, (Yeshua) paid our sin debt in full.
