Every Theological tenet, every Doctrine, every context, every thematic principle, every intent of God through any given writer is under discussion, debate, and divergent assessment. There is no standard model, even within single denominations. Everybody looks to fabricate their own understanding. Commonality of belief does clump together, but actual unity rarely comes forward.

The 3000 years of Scriptural authorship and the First Church epoch contained significant unity, notwithstanding the actual heresies of tares, Gnosticism, remnant Judaism, Nicolaitanism, and Paganism.

Today, there is neither drive nor effect for unity in Doctrine or Theology, in Practice or Worship, in historic narrative or textual verity. How can this be, given the incredible power and authority of God's written Word, revealed by the promise of The Holy Spirit to those who read and study it?

Do not waste our time placing blame or accusation. Do not speak to some other issue. Do not give dismissive chit chat. Do not wax long with academic obfuscation. Do not give preachy sounding church talk babble. Do not repeat or revise this question to allow a soap box answer. Just identify how such ongoing disagreement can be stopped.

This shouldn't be stopped. This forum is made of divers denominations. The reason denominations are divers is because people and their beliefs are divers. But we can share our different ideas and people can eventually form a more sound doctrine thru general discussion. That is the purpose of these forums, that and general fellowship. That said: you might try engaging in the fellowship and prayer sections also. They are beneficial and invites the Holy Spirit to abide with us. Which is something you might not encounter in debating scripture.

No Scripture commands or illustrates God's Will for Believers to discuss diverse thoughts, and to thereby form any sort of a "sound doctrine through general discussion."

Learn to identify and follow the Word of God, rather than the thoughts of a typical millennial/genexer of our times. Do you understand what you just read here?

Why? Because God has allowed Satan, his evil angels, and his demons free rein (to a limited extent) and the Enemy has been sowing tares among the wheat ever since the Gospel was preached by Christ and the apostles.

This is a given, therefore our focus should be on holding fast to the truth. Which means that every Christian must be a diligent student of the Word of God, rightly dividing the Word with the guidance and help of the Holy Spirit. Those who are devoid of the Spirit generally promote false doctrines.

If you examine this paragraph, you may find it's internal flaw.

You SAY there is neither drive nor effect for unity, but you also acknowledge the power of God's Word. So perhaps you might re-examine your first conclusion, that there is neither drive nor effect for unity, and perhaps retract such a possibly grossly inaccurate overgeneralization?

Much love!

More to the point, where is unity to be found? Where do we all have commonality?

Ongoing disagreements focus on differences, that is, man's opinions of things. Unity is found in what is common amongst us. Christ in you, and Christ in me. We have the same Spirit, because we gave obeyed the same Gospel. Do you agree with that?

Ephesians 4:1-3 KJV
1) I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
2) With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
3) Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

Ephesians 4:11-14 KJV
11) And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12) For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13) Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
14) That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

Ephesians 4:29 KJV
29) Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

Is something preventing you from speaking any aspects of a unified Doctrine?

Simple answer: the cause of the Problem is the pride of man. When man comes to the conclusion that they only know in part, then that pride will be discarded and discourse can take place, and the unity of the Spirit achieved.

Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name. (Malachi 3:16)

Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; (Ephesians 4:13-14)
