The "Angel of Death"

I saw this on the news I believe animals can perceive things we humans can not. Whether it is a smell the human body puts out from chemical changes at death or something more spiritual each has to decide for themselves but I have heard some pretty amazing stories.

I think there's a natural explanation, Kriss. I agree there is a smell to death and I think they perceive that. And it's just in their nature to hang around until death comes, like an automatic reaction waiting for their prey to die.Whenever one of my cats gets a bird or mouse, they actually play with it. Later on they fling the poor thing around and then just wait there couchant for awhile with the thing in front of them until its dead. They seem to sense when this happens and then they eat it if they are hungry, or put it on my doorstep for a "present" if they are not hungry!

I was reading more about this cat from another news source and it said that usually the cats lays with the dying person something like 4 hours before they pass away. Then one day this doctor predicted a patient's death in a few hours and the cat DID NOT lay with that person when the doctor made the prediction. They thought that the cat lost his touch. But nope, a few hours later the cat came to the patient just before death. The doctor made the prediction 10 hours early! The cat "knew" when it was closer to the time!

They are very fascinating animals---- that's why I have 6 of them!
