The atonement of God is to substitute life for life: the atonement of the Lamb of God is to substitute His life of righteousness and true holiness, for our old life of dead works.
The atonement of the Lamb of God is not to give His life to the dead in sins and trespasses, but rather to give His Spirit of life to them that repent and were dead in sins and trespasses.
Nor does He substitute His dead body, for that of any body still dead in sins and trespasses. Jesus' dead body does not pay for the price of any present sinning.
Any man while sinning is still dead to God. No ungodly sinner dead in sins and trespasses, is now receiving the atonement of the Lamb of God by Christ Jesus.
The death of Jesus' body does not substitute for the continuing judgment of death upon sinners and trespassers against God and His Christ.
Jesus' own dead body is no substitution replacement for any body still dead in their sins and trespasses. The death of any man's own continued dead works, is still his alone. His place in judgment is not taken by the beating and death of Jesus' own body.
Because Jesus died on the cross, does not mean that ongoing sinners are not now condemned with their own death by sinning.
Jesus' atoning body of sacrifice on the cross, is not for present living. His dead body and shed blood does not atone for any man still dead in sins and trespasses.
Nowhere does the Bible say Jesus' death on the cross is ever a 'substitute' for any man's present death in sins and trespasses. Even as the atoning substitute of dead bulls and goats was not for present sins of Israel, nor for strangers to the covenant of God.
And they shall eat those things wherewith the atonement was made, to consecrate and to sanctify them: but a stranger shall not eat thereof, because they are holy.
We see here, that on the day of atonement, the people are consecrate and sanctified to God's holiness. They are not now as strangers sinning and transgressing His law.
