48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. - 1 Corinthians 15:48.
The only message born again believers have. It is the only message for believing on the Lord Jesus Christ - the message of the cross. Mentioning the cross is not the preaching of the cross. Peter stood on the day of Pentecost and preached "whom you crucified."
38 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. - Acts 2:38.
Preaching an event is not the preaching of the cross (though God used it to start the church). The preaching of the cross is the crucified death of Adam in Christ on the cross (this is Paul preaching Christ). The preaching of the cross is the resurrected life of Christ in you the hope of glory! What is that? Death to the believer. No life but the resurrected life of Christ in a believer. Believers have one life and that life is Christ in you. The cross is death, and that death is the death to all that would believe. Already dead in Christ, and now believing on the finished work of the cross. That death will not work in you until you know your death on that cursed tree. You were not made alive by the cross - you were killed out at the cross Adam. All in Adam dead in Christ!
And the life in you is Christ! People straightening out their own lives have never seen the death, burial, or resurrection. What is religion? The gospel of correction. They are in the business of fixing Adam up. Getting Adam straightened out to make it work. Paul would say "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved." The salvation of God is death! When Christ died - you died in him with him. Adams death. All in Adam dead. You are dead - killed out - crucified in Christ the moment you believed. And many remain dead by trying to straighten out themselves - no life. Again Paul "who shall deliver me from this body of death."
