Wednesday 10-9-19, 4th. Day of the weekly cycle, Tishri 10, 5780 Seventh Month, it is Yom Kippur/Day of Atonement, Leviticus 23:26-32.

Good morning, and Praise The Lord Jesus Christ, The ten days from Yom Teruah and Yom Kippur are known as "The Days Of Awe" and The Days Of Repentance. The month of Elul.

Isaiah 59:1-2 1Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear. 2But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.

Romans 13:11-14 11And do this, understanding the present time: The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. 12The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. 13Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy. 14Rather, clothe yourselves with the LORD Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.

Ephesians 5:14-16 14This is why it is said: "Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you." 15Be very careful, then, how you live-not as unwise but as wise, 16making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.

Love always, Walter and Debbie

Ephesians 6 is very similar to the Romans 13 passage about putting on God's armour...

Since Yom Kippur cannot be observed without (1) the temple, (2) the high priest, and (3) the necessary animal sacrifices, I have to wonder how in the world it can still be observed.

The final Yom Kippur (now fulfilled) was on the 14th day of Nisan in AD 30, when Christ was both the divine High Priest and the Ultimate Lamb of God who took away the sin of the world on the cross. While Yom Kippur had to be observed year after year, Christ made ONE SACRIFICE FOR SINS FOREVER, and then entered into the Holy of Holies in the Heavenly Sanctuary with His own blood (and sat down after that on the right hand of the Majesty on High).

Amen, John 5:39-40 39You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me, 40yet you refuse to come to me to have life.

Romans 14:5 5One person considers one day more sacred than another; another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their own mind.

“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:” King James Version (KJV) Philippians 2:5 Context 2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

Hebrews 9:1-28 Jesus Christ Our Lord Is The High Priest Of Salvation:

11But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; 12Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. 13For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: 14How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

15And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

16For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. 17For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth. 18Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood. 19For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people, 20Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you. 21Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry. 22And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

23It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. 24For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: 25Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others; 26For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. 27And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: 28So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

Love always, Walter

Philippians 2:5 KJV: Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
We must make sure of our motives in reading Scripture, right? like, not wanting to read our own ideas into Scripture...
