1 John 2
Young's Literal Translation
He is writing to believers who he called little children - The pervious is so that we may not lie, when it comes to sin and our hearts turn towards evil and unbelief being blinded by darkness, ~ If we are blinded by our hatred, greed, lusts, whatever it is towards someone ~ We have an advocate with the Father ~ When we (miss the mark of living by the spirit) - and we live by our flesh that causes hatred, greed, and it is not relying on God our Father, and His Son Jesus Christ
2 and he -- he is a propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the whole world,
Verse 2: Gods Son Jesus Christ sacrifice was enough to please God ~ not only for Jesus paying for your sins, but God has been pleased because the blood of Christ sacrifice was for all people in the entirety of the world (universe - kosmos)
3 and in this we know that we have known him, if his commands we may keep;
Verse 3: And this how we know that we have known him ~ if his commands we may keep
4 he who is saying, `I have known him,' and his command is not keeping, a liar he is, and in him the truth is not;
Verse 4: Any person saying 'I have know him' and his command is not keeping ~ That person is a liar, and the truth is not with-in him
5 and whoever may keep his word, truly in him the love of God hath been perfected; in this we know that in him we are.
Verse 5: And whoever may keep his word truly in him (With-in by the spirit of Christ/holy spirit) ~ the love of God has been matured (faith trust belief) in this is how we know that in Christ Jesus and Gods love we are because of relationship with the Father and His Son Jesus Christ.
6 He who is saying in him he doth remain, ought according as he walked also himself so to walk.
Verse 6: He who is saying in him he ~ Any person saying in Christ they remain ~
Ought according as He walked ~ Any person saying in Christ they remain ~ Ought to walk as a person who would walk as Christ living in them would walk by the spirit (walking by the spirit; spirit of Christ; law of Christ, holy spirit, comforter, the spirit of truth).
7 Brethren, a new command I write not to you, but an old command, that ye had from the beginning -- the old command is the word that ye heard from the beginning;
Verse 7 Brother, a new command I write not to you, but an old command
that you had from the beginning ~~ the old command is the word that you heard from the beginning
8 again, a new command I write to you, which thing is true in him and in you, because the darkness doth pass away, and the true light doth now shine;
Verse 8: Again a new command ~ I write to you, which thing is true in him and in you, because the darkness does pass away, and the true light does now shines.
(being born again, transformation, darkness is passing away, as true light now shines - Yeshua Christ the light of all men ~ Yeshua and His Father are able to help renew minds, and renew hearts by the spirit given to a believer, and God has the ability to pull the people who are choosing to be delivered from darkness into the kingdom of His Son.)
9 he who is saying, in the light he is, and his brother is hating, in the darkness he is till now;
Verse 9: A person saying that he abides in the light.
But hates his brother ~ The darkness still remains with-in.
10 he who is loving his brother, in the light he doth remain, and a stumbling-block in him there is not;
Verse 10: He who is loving his brother ~ Is in the light he abides in the vine *(Yeshua John 15?) and because of abiding in the light ~ A person loving their brother will also try to keep their brother from falling.
11 and he who is hating his brother, in the darkness he is, and in the darkness he doth walk, and he hath not known whither he doth go, because the darkness did blind his eyes.
Verse 11: And he who is hating his brother ~ Is in darkness he is
And in darkness does he walk ~ He has no clue where he is going ~
Because the darkness did blind his eyes.
12 I write to you, little children, because the sins have been forgiven you through his name;
Verse 12: I write to you little children, because the sins have been forgiven you through his name; - Forgiveness of sins through the name of Jesus Christ - His shed blood on the cross, and resurrection from the dead by the Father.
13 I write to you, fathers, because ye have known him who [is] from the beginning; I write to you, young men, because ye have overcome the evil. I write to you, little youths, because ye have known the Father:
Verse 13: Believers who abide in Christ Jesus and have known the Father. Gods Son Jesus Christ overcome the evil, and John is writing to the fathers, and the young men who have overcome the evil (darkness - unbelief - no light).
14 I did write to you, fathers, because ye have known him who [is] from the beginning; I did write to you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God in you doth remain, and ye have overcome the evil.
Verse 14: I did write to you, fathers, because you have known him who is from the beginning, I did write to you, also young men, because you are strong, and the word of God in you does remain, ~ And you have overcome the evil. (darkness ~ unbelief ~ no light).
15 Love not ye the world, nor the things in the world; if any one doth love the world, the love of the Father is not in him,
Verse 15: Love not the world ; nor the things in the world; if anyone does love the world, the love of the Father is not in him,
16 because all that [is] in the world -- the desire of the flesh, and the desire of the eyes, and the ostentation of the life -- is not of the Father, but of the world,
Verse 16: Because all that is in the world ~~
The desire of the flesh
The desire of the eyes
and the ostentation of the life ~~

Verse 17; Abiding in Christ, and having a relationship with God ~ The world does pass away, and the desire of it
and He who is doing the will of God ~ He does remain ~~ To the age.
