No...not quite.
Because of the "invasion of privacy" in European markets the Social Media giants will be found guilty...the Governments in the EU are desperate for cash...and these tech giants have it.
They want to get the money before the American people get it back from the tech giants.
Everyone is smelling the blood in the water...from some extremely fat whales. The sharks are getting ready for a feeding frenzy.

They have been charged with Election Tampering and invasion of privacy for using people's viewing habits and trends.
What do you think that the outcome is going to be?

The fbi finished its investigation and said there was no tampering. Now I am not saying that there was not just that nothing will come of it. In fact the gop is now going to impeach trump. You think the eu has more say than the usa
I think that the key points are that the initial lawsuits are in the EU and not America...and that they will do as they please there. (They are desperate for money since Brexit)
All of the Social Media giants have freely admitting to violating privacy in the EU as they have been charged...not going to be much of a case to build when the defense is admitting guilt.
The lawsuits in America have just gotten started.
Where they have legal protections as a platform they don't have any as a publisher. When they "moderated" only one particular ideology instead of uniformly applied the rules to the opposing Ideology...they stopped being a platform and became a publisher.
A publisher is legally liable for all content but a platform is not. And that's not going to end well for the tech giants.
